Imagine the limited success Brook had coming from a much larger man with better footwork, volume, cardio and you have your answer.
That's no slight on Golovkin as I'd pick Calzaghe over all but a few at 168.
Its a real shame, you can almost call Calzaghe a waste of talent. He did too little too late in his career.

As for the fight, Golovkin would have a hard time landing flush. Calzaghe's hand speed, movement and angles would probably frustrate the hell out of Golovkin, not to mention Calzaghe took a pretty good punch. If Calzaghe wouldn't have crumbled he would've won a decision. And that brings me to my next question about Golovkin: What's gonna happen in a fight where his opponent doesn't wilt under his power?

actually i just started following boxing in a serious way besides tyson fights right after that fight happened. i dind't know who eitehr guy was. everyone kept saying lacy was great after calzaghe beat him then i watched his old fights and was like really where? he seems to suck. and i was right and have been right about everything since. but i would still pick lacy in da rematch. too much power.

Joe Calzaghe is much better than Andre Ward this would be a tough one for GGG but I think he could beat him it's a shame we never got that one Joe schooled both Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr he clearly is levels above the best the Yanks had I just wish my boy Joe got to school that fat bum Toney as well.

Lacy was never the same after that fight and probably would've been beaten worse in a rematch.

8-4 or 9-3 to Calzaghe. Too busy, good at slipping punches, fantastic punch output. GGG would look absolutely horrible against Joe and everyone would say he was exposed in the fight.

Huge ggg fan but I can't pick any fighter at 168 against Joe calzaghe. he beat Roy Jones, Hopkins, eubank, kessler, and lacy. Joe was one of the most talented fighters I've ever seen, no one was even close to beating him

Bad style matchup for Joe. He could certainly outwork GGG, but his volume would just open up more opportunities. People talk about what happens when someone does'nt wilt to GGG's power, but hes not a head hunter. He is a dedicated and brutal body puncher and a guy that does'nt need to land flush to do damage. I think Joe probably takes the early rounds and GGG slowly breaks him down, comes on in the mid to late rounds and we would get a SD type of decision that could go either way.
