it's not a question of being historically significant, it's a question of spike bringing legitimate world championship boxing to basic cable on a regular basis, something the sport hasn't had in many years.

not everybody can afford HBO and showtime. many can't even afford digital cable. access to being able to view elite (or premier lol) boxing champions is expanding. there's no denying that the marquee value of these spike cards is a big step up from the basic cable cards that were taking place before PBC.

danny garcia won the WBC world welterweight championship live on FOX and will be defending live on spike. MILLIONS are watching boxing now that weren't watching before.
