They are talking about the split if it goes to a purse bid. Right now it's free negotiation which WBA splits do not apply. This is most likely going to a bid because GGG is signed with HBO and Jacobs is signed with Showtime.

Good thing about a purse bid is; they either fight or somebody vacates. Jacobs vacates his mandatory or GGG vacates his title. The funny thing is people will still find a way to blame it on the other fighter, you know, like when Duva secretly petitioned the WBC to make Kovalev the Mando even though he wasn't ranked with the WBC, then forced a purse bid, then pulled out of the purse bid, vacated the mandatory position after HBO pulled support, blamed everything on Haymon, and a number of posters still accused Stevenson for ducking. LOL so I hope the fight happens, but the posts will be entertaining.

Ive said Haymon won't purse bid because it will be a bad investment. He will pay GGG big money to snipe out one of his champions. If HBO doesn't pony up, they should let GGG go make the money real fast.

You can't duck someone whose fighting two divisions above you and doesn't even want to fight the year he's calling you out. I call you out for a fight, but in 18 months.

It crack me up that you try so hard to hate on GGG that you're hoping he losing a title outside the ring. That's pathetic.

When's Lara gonna answer Andrade without bogus offers.
But nooo, those executives have **** for brain and they will bid 8 digit offer because some neanderthal in this thread says so...

Jacobs is going to be in for a really rude awakening when this artificial floor disappears. His numbers aren't even worth 500k.
there's a guy on youtube claiming that jacobs is actually the a-side in this fight, it's hilarious lol

GGG was interim champ, and had been so for years. WBC rules for the purse split were more favorable than Canelo wanted, but if Canelo would have offered 70/30 it'd be done anyways.
Why would they be bogus? Because they would be making a decision to facilitate a fight that is good for boxing? Because they would be aligning with other boxing organizations regarding fixed splits for fights between champions within the organization?

Also, K2 is on record as saying they deserve a 60-40 split against Alvarez so what makes you so sure they would have accepted 70-30?

How can K2 argue they deserve more than the flat fee plus upside against Alvarez if they don't secure a fight with Jacobs. In essence, K2 needs Jacobs and his value to them is much greater than the less than 1M he would likely get in a purse bid. Just like with Lemieux, K2 better choose the break even route or they risk losing out on more than the extra 1.5M Jacobs is looking for.
