They're smart to try, but WBA would be bogus to do so.
Two different organizations. Plus, GGG had been waiting on that shot since Rubio. And k-2 already said they'd do 70/30 then, Canelo vacated because he didn't want to fight GGG.
He didn't begin negotiations, he fought smith and is trying to still push it back.
GGG was interim champ, and had been so for years. WBC rules for the purse split were more favorable than Canelo wanted, but if Canelo would have offered 70/30 it'd be done anyways.
Wtf are you talking about. GGG beat Lemiuex for IBF. He got WBC because he beat Rubio and Canelo ducked him. And he got the WBA by winning a vacated title. He's hardily first to win a belt that was vacated.
It's not pathetic how he got them other than the guys who straight up either vacated or let themselves get stripped hoping they didn't have to fight him.Comment

Well, looks like everything falls on Jacobs. Wants a higher percentage with no grounds to stand on in doing so. He's probably better off taking a deal instead of waiting for purse bid. PBC supposed to be smarter with their money. They could put some money to good use here, but they still paying for Danny Garcia tune-ups even though this'll be his third in a row nowComment

If the fight happens then GGG gets another win and Jacobs walks away with a good rep. Jacobs def wondering what he's gonna do after the KO loss cause he wants to cash out before the whipping.
But idk if this is a PPV fight thoComment

If WBA changes Split to cater to the Regular, GGG should vacate.
WBA would look bad trying to change the rules just to help Jacobs.
Ive said Haymon won't purse bid because it will be a bad investment. He will pay GGG big money to snipe out one of his champions. If HBO doesn't pony up, they should let GGG go make the money real fast. Before the negotiations started, I predicted that K2 would hold out for the purse bid. Why wouldn't they? They get 75% of the split. Even if Haymon wins and brings it to Showtime, he'll have to break the bank to compensate for Jacobs' 25%. Jacobs was on record asking for $2-3M, Haymon would have to put up a massive bid to satisfy that unless Jacobs is willing to fight for like $1M, which I doubt considering he got that much for Sergio Mora and this is a much bigger fight. K2 would offer Jacobs even less money if they won the bid.
You can't duck someone whose fighting two divisions above you and doesn't even want to fight the year he's calling you out. I call you out for a fight, but in 18 months.
It crack me up that you try so hard to hate on GGG that you're hoping he losing a title outside the ring. That's pathetic.
When's Lara gonna answer Andrade without bogus offers.Comment

I don't see how this fight gets made off a purse bid. Just say Haymon was willing to put up 5 million for this and put it on Showtime, that would only get Jacobs 1.25 million. Doesn't seem like he'd be willing to do this fight for that much. Personally I don't even know if this fight would be worth 5 million. Also would HBO allow it? Be a b!tch move if they didn't.
This would be a game changer.Comment

There's still time, but the su****ioun that Jacobs is looking for a way out is growing with his team's lame request of a rules-change regarding purse-split.Comment
