Lemieux has too many weaknesses to beat Canelo the biggest being horrible defense. He gets hit by everything and is very slow. Canelo will Tee off on him at will. He is tailor made for Canelo this will be Kirkland all over again. Lemieux being with Golden Boy definitely makes him one of the front runners for Canelo's next fight. But for all Lemieux's flaws he does have a punchers chance because of his power. So the fight will be exciting however long it goes and even if he is getting outclassed losing rounds by the more skilled Canelo fans will be on the edge of their seats because he is just 1 shot away from upsetting Canelo.

Whenever I hear names like Lemieux, I'm reminded how much the 160lb. division sucks. Salute to him for getting paydays though--he'll be Canelo's mark at some point next year when he uses him as a punching bag in prep for Golovkin.

I think Canelo loses at 160. Lemieux is the second best out there IMO. Hes shown more heart and is a vicious puncher.. Canelo couldnt even Knock down cotto once, where Manny pacquiao has.

Do you even watch the fights? Styles make fights and strategy plays a part. Cotto thought he was the bigger man and came forward trying to brawl and KO pacman leaving himself open to get clocked and KO'd himself. Against Canelo Cotto came in lighter then he has in years as a strategy to have more stamina to get on his bike 12 rounds and refrain from engaging with Canelo. His gameplan was go backwards and jab his way to a decision. Last thing he wanted was a brawl with Canelo and lost that tactical battle. If Cotto fought the same way he did against Pacman he would of been KO inside 6 rounds.

He didn't go into the Pacman fight trying to win a decision he went in trying to get Pacman out of there and because of it took more risks that left him open and vulnerable. Different gameplans but he lost both fights at the end of the day. Cotto obviously disagrees with you and thinks Canelo has power because he fought more scared of his power then he did Manny. He also respected and feared Canelo's power more then he did either of his previous 2 fights at Middleweight (Sergio/Geale) that's why he stalked those guys down but ran backwards afraid to trade with Canelo.

lemieux has no jab. unless he lands something canelo picks him apart. i don't wanna sound like those guys who always predicted that maidana was getting stop by a bodie shot, but lemieux gasses and canelo's body work is pretty good.

IMO there's 0% chance Oscar will let Canelo go anywhere near Lemieux next year. Lemieux actually is the same size as Canelo and has legit pop. He's also been beaten by Golovkin and has no titles to bring to the table.

The fight with BJS makes much sense - if Canelo gets the WBO belt, his negotiating power increases dramatically. He's also not risking getting KTFO.

This will not be a light touch up for Canelo. He may need to fight Rosado as a light touch after coming off of a fracture, then a better MW like Eubanks or BJS then GGG. Maybe a fight with Lemieux or Peter Quinn prior to GGG, depending on how active he is in 2017. If struggles against Rosado, then he's not ready for GGG. I don't like Canelo all that much, but I do think he should be able to get 2 or 3 fights at 160 under his belt before going after the top dog of the division.

You guys easily pick Canelo to win? lol..If that were true, Oscar would have set it up a long ago instead of bringing "bantamweights" to fight Canelo.
David can and will probably floor Canelo. There is no way Saul has enough power to trade with David. Even GGG refused to trade with David
