I think the key is as of right now, we are talking about a nearly 40 year old retired boxer. Also, I can't claim to know the history of Henry Armstrong, but Henry may of been able to gain the weight easier and healthier than Floyd. Floyd's best weight is at 147 and he was his most dominant as an action fighter at 140 and below. Many may disagree, but Floyd was not great at 154. Very good, but not great and for him to go to 160, I believe that he would lose to a very good fighter or even lesser fighter. It's not just about weight, he is only 5'7 or 5'8. As you move up, you start fighting taller fighters. Are there even any 5'7 SMW or MW? So when size is discussed as an issues, we have to consider weight and height (and reach). I don't know about the best ever either, but if he wants to make that claim, like Ali did in his day, than he should.
