Historically the sooner fighters like Floyd, Ward, Danny Garcia, etc lose their 0's, and lose their network favoritism that allows them to dictate and cherry pick fights, the better it is for boxing, because then they actually have to start fighting the best and continually prove their skills in the ring against the best, which is what is best for boxing. But as long as they are in that position, it's like Breadman says, they only fight once or twice a year on purpose so that the threats to them will have to fight other fighters instead of them, and potentially move weight classes, while they prolong their period of relevance and their standing in the sport simply by not fighting.

That's why Floyd "retired" when he did. That's why Ward seemed happy to go five years without fighting anyone good. Now he can say "I've been doing this at the top of the sport for ... years!" when really he had one quick tournament in the pros, the Super Six, one or two easy fights after that, and then another five year period of half-retirement. He basically has two-three years of actual pro boxing competition at the B+ opponent level, that's it, but he will try to sell that he's been dominating the game for 10 years.

It's like Breadman says, they do it on purpose to create that illusion. In terms of top level bouts in pro boxing, Ward is still a rookie, but by fighting so infrequently, by cherry picking, by having all these conveniently timed injuries and court battles, he can sell to boxing fans that he's been at the top of the sport for a decade.

This is the exact playbook many boxers today use. That's why smart fans can see the difference between the pretenders and the real fighters who believe in themselves and will fight anyone. Kovalev was actually willing to fight Beterbiev as a warm-up for Ward. Think how crazy that is! Many fighters like Stevenson wouldn't even fight Beterbiev as the main fight, the money fight, but Kovalev was willing to risk his main fight, his money PPV fight with Ward, to fight Beterbiev as the tune-up!

That's why I hope Kovalev wins this. He will continue to make more great fights for the fans! If Ward wins I predict he would try to milk the win for the next five years full of inactivity and cherry picks.
GGG is protecting the hell out of his 0.

Kovalev ran from his own post fight interview when he saw Stevenson.

he was already offered the fight but instead of fighting kovalev in a championship he wanted to fight barrera in an eliminator....lmao. this is why no one takes him seriously. he thinks he's a star like ward or something. turning down career high paydays becaues he might be good some day...didn't know boxing worked that way.

Fights fans wanna see don't always happen and it's not always fighters' fault. Golovkin's team were clearly the problem in making the Ward fight, tryna drain Ward down to 164 and basically doing what Canelo is doing to GGG, I'm sure you'll find a way to spin this though. Ward schooled Froch in a non-competitive fight, who the **** wanted to see that rematch? There was no controversy and it wasn't a close fight. Stevenson? I assume you mean when Stevenson was at 168...and a complete nobody. Who was asking to see that fight? Again, when has the DeGale fight ever been on the table? You're throwing random names out there.

seems like you found a way to spin it to your liking already lol. ggg said he was staying at 160 unless it was a big fight. ward fight doesn't qualify as big to them. brook fight was for 5 mill which is much more than he would have got for ward so seems like they made the right move.

also i'll fight you in a year? fight killer right there. why does ggg have to rearrange his career for a b-side? why do you expect him to do that wtf? 50-50 when ggg was much more popular than ward at the moment. fight killer. add a year when ggg's popularity is still growing and he was scheduled to fight canelo before ward....50-50? really? so yeah ward knew that would get rejected. ward fans never say "why didn't ward just try to fight ggg right then." they have no defense for this of course and shut their lips quickly when its brought up.

if you heard ward's comments about giving up concessions to ggg you would see how delusional he is. he thinks wait for me in a year and 50-50 was giving concessions wtf?

lots of people wanted to see the rematch. want proof? it would have been ward's biggest money making figth with the most fans in attendance. that's not good enough wtf?

stevenson said he would drop to 168 and fight ward after he ko'd dawson. dawson is a nobody? ward just fought dawson as well and then he said stevenson hadn't beat anyone yet wtf is that?

degale called out ward but ward said he couldn't get any fights at 168 so he had to move up wtf?

wtf is wrong with this man?

No mate.. You would know better that amateurs are amateurs & pro is pro..
You do know that Beterbiev's guys did not consider KOvalev's offer to fight him yet right..

Im not saying he is better then Kov. But saying Beterbiev has no business beeing in a ring or calling for a kov match is a stretch. I don't mind him getting pro experience before facing the unified champ. As long as ot happens. Would rather see somebody test Adonis though

Those are not my words, I'm barely asking him to earn his spot.. Like I said, his team rejected Kovalev's offer a few fights back, so they know he is still green & that's exactly my point..

Now, Stevenson & him can fight sooner than Kov/Ward because they are promoted by the same guy & all he needs is to say so, but I have lost any hopes on Stevenson if he will fight the guys who can be serious threat..
