The exact opposite is true. Canelo is underrated by many as a puncher. He hits with speed and power and puts lots of weight into his punches. His punches with both hands sound like explosions when they land. You are trying to prove he can't punch based on one punch that didn't KO Cotto. That's pathetic and you are desperate to prove a very hard puncher can't punch for some reason. Anybody who took a good look at the right that almost took Khan's head off or the left to the body that left Smith lying in pain on the canvas knows that Canelo is indeed a hard puncher.

Canelo's power is a bit overrated, however that step back counter wasnt a good example of it. Yes its technically a power punch, but not all power punches are equal, factor in the fact he was stepping back.
