When it comes to GGG sometimes you have to pay attention to the context of the fights. When he fought Murray the sports media was asking "what happens if GGG goes all 12 rounds" that could be why it went 11 rounds. When he fought monroe the question was "what if GGG gets hit" and "how does he react to counter punches" so he got hit a little and his gloves didn't cover his face for a few seconds. When he fought Proksa, he was a newcomer and he might've wanted to make an impression, so he was wild. When he fought Brook the question was how long is the fight gonna go and is GGG gonna come out slow and jabbing or aggressive and active.
When he fought Lemiuex and people like Oscar were thinking it was gonna be Hagler-Hearns and he comes out with a jabbing fest. It all depends.

For this fight, I think it's a toss up because GGG wants to get him outta there, but Jacobs has not made any disses or rude remarks to GGG so it's not like triple G wants to punish him. I think it's gonna end in the 4th cause once GGG feels the power and isn't worried (I assume) he will start closing in with the body and head shots.

Proksa was garbage and overhyped scrawny European champ, and nobody follows the IBO. however, in respects to better European boxers than Proksa, the way you neutralize experience fighters would be something like Spence Jr. vs Bundu.

Also, Abel said they had never fought a "slick" Southpaw in order to justify the Monroe Jr. bout....well, there was this bout...

If you're asking if Jacobs could win, then yes. If you're asking if it would be treated as a monumental upset, then not really. It might not even win upset of the year.

It wouldn't be even nearly as big an upset because people have a certain level of respect for Jacobs after the Quillin win. It might have been considered a huge, but not still not Tyson-Douglas esque, upset if it had happened before that fight.

Golovkin's face has never been like Choco's after the Cuadras bout, but Jacobs should ideally be a very tough fight for Golovkin. That's if we believe he cracks harder than Brook. I think we know the answer to that.
Like 7 maybe, not exactly a model for victory tho. Good points aside from comparing a guy with 20+ straight kos to bantamweights I'm not being sarcastic its just I think the chin and power are too much for anyone below 175 now.
If he trades he gets koed. Didn't he get knocked down by wuthisname mora? If he boxes brilliantly and takes only a few flush shots and does enough offensively to win 7 rounds. It's possible he is the miracle man rite? Edit good call it went 11. I don't remember maybe I'll rewatch.

I agree Jacobs' chin is suspect, especially going in against Gennady. However, Lara been knocked down, Andrade been knocked down...they end up winning. Angulo's E.T. looking ass after Lara. Like Amagasa vs Rigo, and Rigo got caught twice in that bout

Yeah don't get me wrong it's a fight I want to see. U can argue he was just in Ko mode and didn't expect to get hit with anything from mora. But I personally am taking that as evidence that he wouldn't last. I'm wrong a lot tho.

What a ****** thread by a ****** GGG hating thread starter. GGG will probably be a 3 to 1 betting favorite over Jacobs. Tyson was an 80 to 1 betting favorite over Douglas. Can you understand the difference? Knowing you, probably not. Jacobs is a damn good fighter but he is not good enough. If Mora can drop him GGG will knock him out and you can cry yourself to sleep.

So you have Jacobs as a 42-1 underdog?

Do you mean strategically or as far as upsets?

Because Golovkin-Jacobs isn't really similar in either sense. I don't see the comparison either way.
