Gilberto Ramirez would kick Chavez Jr's ass though. Too long, too powerful, too fast. He's like Fonfara but more talented and more powerful. Degale is a good fight for Chavez though. Maybe Badou Jack.
How about Chavez Jr. vs Bernard Hopkins for Hopkins farewell fight at 168 and for the sake of name recognition and posterity? Hopkins would probably still school him as Chavez is pretty slow and awkward but on the other hand Chavez jr throws bombs and big left hooks a lot harder than BHop throws them. It would be an interesting style clash and have good name value, be marketable.

I love the Hopkins idea. They could do something close to 75 and Chavez would have no weight excuses...Should get Bernard another good payday, and I'm sure Chavez needs the cash.

PBC sucks, is a disgrace to boxing, and may very well just have been a ponzi scheme the whole time for Al to make money while ruining the sport. Thurman-Porter's 2.4 million was on network TV so that rating sucks. Spence vs Bundo was right after the Olympics and is therefore a meaningless outlier. If ratings were normally good like you imply, PBC wouldn't have lost 500 million dollars already. Clearly, the ratings aren't as good as you think
Also, as boxing fans, the most important thing is the quality of the fights, and Spence-Bundo was a complete joke of a mismatch, which any matchmaker should have known after Keith Thurman won every single round against Bundu the year before. 41 year olds who already lost every round in their one recent fight at the top level should not be getting another fight against the most talented young welterweight in the world. That's just common sense for any good matchmaker but if PBC has proven one thing, it's that they don't have good matchmakers.
