  • Marquez is the greatest mexican of all time...

Arguably beat Manny 4 times. Kept moving up like a gangster to chase him. Didnt just stop at 135, he cleaned it out by the time he fought Manny the 3rd time.

Robbed in most of his losses. Counter punching genious with the heart of a true warrior. Never let a ferocious volume power puncher like Manny punk him.

His fights with Manny, Casamayor, Katsiditis, and Juan Diaz are stuff of legend. Even the Barrera fight was good even though that was Barrera at the tail end.

Prince Naseem ducked him. Took the dark horse ride in boxing. Fought for him. ****ing gangster.

Just as Marquez is 4-0 against Manny, Manny could be 3-1 against him. Who was robbed the first fight? What an annoying argument pro-Marquez. Good on him, he fought his easiest stylistic fight possible and could only come away with a KO win in four tries.

He was masterclassed by Floyd & schooled by Bradley. Come on.
He isn't greater than Barrera or Morales

You forgot how beautiful his combinations looked, so fluid and precise.

Not the greatest mexican ever but very close..

I would rate him higher than barrera and morales. But not sure if he ahead of guys like chavez and Sanchez..

Def one of the greatest mexican warriors ever

He's great no doubt and in the top ten and possibly five IMO.

However, I say Julio Cesar Chavez, Sr. takes him in his prime and Morales beats him at 126 IMO. He would give both of them hell though.

That's debatable...and barrera and morales could have proved that at 126 but avoided marquez instead. In any case, 3 legends in their primes fighting at the same weight at the same time is pretty rare.

Hard to rate his career above Chavez, but skill wise he was second to none. His dedication to the sport would contribute to his longevity and yield his greatest accomplishments as a results.

As opposed to other greats like Chavez and Morales was fully dedicated physically and mentally to the sport throughout his career.

He was the true embodiment of a "Mexican Warrior" even more so than guys modern guys like Chavez, Morales, and Barrera. The first Pacquiao fight is a great example, after getting dropped 3 times and suffering a broken nose he fought back and very easily could have earned a decision.
