GGG vs Lemieux did 150k in his first PPV, 150k is the real number every boxing writer and outlet reported, NOBODY out there with any credential reported 97k, only one guy who left boxing already and guesses PPV buys by his Facebook followers reported 97k, so just dont fall for the typical GGG haters.

Promoter Tom Loeffler calls Golovkin's pay-per-view show headlined by a title fight with David Lemieux a success based on the pay-per-view numbers and a sold-out Madison Square Garden.

150k in your first PPV is impressive when you realize someone like Cotto did 60k in his first PPV: http://www.secondsout.com/usa-boxing...th-cotto-judah

Also GGG vs Brook did 500k+, GGG is improving and Canelo is decreasing.

GGG will take the fight for 65/35.

Yep, 60/40 is looking like a fair deal.

Golovkin could have a big reg.HBO fight with Jacobs in December that'll get alot of attention, then another major UK fight with BJS in Feb/Mar, and maybe still plan on his 40k stadium fight in June in Astana. And if Jacobs/Saunders fall out, he could fight Rameriz in San Antonio.

Meantime Canelo will fight who in May? Probably another safe, money-grab fight that he gets made fun of for. There could be a big momentum shift in their popularity with GGG closing the gap.

I consider Saunders a safe fight.

I sure don't and I doubt Oscar would either.

            BJS is very talented.

It would be a bad match match up for Canelo stylistically.

I could understand them wanting the WBO belt to give them leverage, but it would be far too risky in my opinion.

Why would Oscar take that risk if he wanted to fight GG in September?

I think the risk would outweigh the reward.

I think Oscar would get him a low level guy for his first fight, and especially if he'd had 8-9 months out. (by next May)

if you arent taking risks vs BJS then let GGG alone...
canelo knows he can beat BJS with no problem, they even offered a 2 fight deal which BJS incredibly rejected...

Then they lose the the argument that Canelo is "ducking" them. You can't turn down $10 million and call someone a "duck!" One thing for sure, GGG is "business man!"

                      This isn't helping your point
500k + on HBO non ppv is horrible.

Thurman and Porter did 3 mil on free tv.

Imagine the views Canelo would get on regular HBO.
