There's no guarantee Canelo will rematch him if GGG dominates him. Anyway no sane fighter or promoter is going to give up tens of millions of dollars just to appease haters on the internet. GGG will offer fair terms as always and if Canelo stops ducking him, Canelo will agree to fair terms and they will fight each other. This is like when Flom0s said Pacquiao should just take the flat $40 mil. No, just because one fighter is ducking doesn't put the responsibility on the other fighter to just give in to ridiculous demands to appease a ducking fighter.
As boxing fans we need to reorient the way we think a little bit and get back to reality. Start blaming the ducking fighters, not the ones being ducked. If Canelo makes GGG a lowball offer, we can't blame GGG for not taking the lowball offer, we need to blame Canelo for making lowball offers designed to keep the fight from happening.
In short, when one fighter clearly wants the fight, and one fighter clearly does everything possible to avoid the fight, we need to blame the fighter who is doing everything possible to avoid the fight. Until he fights GGG, Team Canelo deserves all the blame, as has already been established when he said he would fight GGG after Cotto, but fought Khan instead, then said he would fight GGG after Khan, but dropped the belt instead. That's already two clear ducks so that's where the blame lies.
GGG to his credit is now chasing after someone potentially more dangerous than Canelo, in Danny Jacobs. Canelo ducks him so he just moves on to an even bigger threat, always willing to face the best guys who will face him. That's to be commended.
And Alvarez is the one holding up the fight? gtfohComment

Somehow ward, canelo and all these fighters are able to make big fights with EVERYONE else but GGG. But you say they are the problems when GGG is the common denomonator and refuses to make a big fight with ANYONE. he bamboozled yall. Hype boy only wants bums like wade. He will never make a fight fans give a phuk about. Finds a new way to kill any fight unless he's a 10 to 1 favorite to win it.Comment

an undercard fighter?? the red kid had 40k at the alamo, sold out mgm vs ***ing jossesito lopez the same day chavez jr fought maravilla across the street, something ggg isnt capable to do yet, the kid had more fans than floyd on almost every city during the city tour, do you actually believe ggg is close to that??? canelo was red hot when he fought floyd and the numbers dont lie... ggg is not a ppv fighter and is risking to get a middle finger from canelo...
You can argue who was a bigger star, Canelo pre-Floyd fight, or GGG now, but there's no question at that time Floyd was a bigger PPV star than Canelo is now. You can't even argue that one and I'm sure you won't try.
And you don't know how big a star GGG will be by next September either. He gets more known every year. What if he beats Jacobs in December, becomes undisputed against Saunders in February, fights say Chavez Jr in May and knocks him out? Knocks out a Mexican star at a higher weight class 168? Or beats Gilberto Ramirez? If GGG knocks out Chavez Jr, becomes undisputed champ, potentially breaks Hopkins record too (is he within two? I'm not sure have to look that up), and beats Danny Jacobs the #2 middleweight, you don't think he will be a much bigger star by then than he even is now?
That's the point. We don't even know what GGG will be worth by next September yet, which is why no one negotiates a flat fee 12 months in advance, which is why we know GBP's offer is bull****.
You know the other reason I know the offer was bull**** and Oscar wants to delay the fight until September 2017 at the earliest? Because Oscar said so:
"I have been clear that Canelo will fight Golovkin at 160 pounds and we have a verbal agreement to do it in the fall of 2017. But in the meantime, Canelo is going to build up to being a true middleweight. The plan is to face Smith, a big, bruising 154-pounder, and if Canelo emerges victorious, to start making his way up to 160 pounds and fight Golovkin on equal turf (in terms of weight)."
De La Hoya then laid out his plan.
"We envision Canelo doing a third fight in 2016 either at or close to the middleweight limit and then a fight (in May) on Cinco De Mayo at 160 before facing Golovkin in the fall," De La Hoya said.Comment

or, he doesnt feel its necessary to bend over and ********** himself the instant someone flashes something shiny at him.
There has NEVER been a situation where GGG's team priced him out of a fight, so Im not sure why you clowns are so opposed to his team actually trying to negotiate.Comment

I'll say to Canelo give them the middle finger and go separate ways.Comment

Golovkin fans are delusional. 10+ mil and PPV upside is a lowball offer? This is a regualr HBO fighter that gets $2 mil we're talking about here. How the **** is paying him over 5x he makes lowball.Comment

As much fun as rehashing this obvious "debate" that isn't even a debate to people with brains who aren't biased is, I think it's time...

Enough, Lil G needs to accept Golden Boy terms if not then he can go kick rocks. Canelo will make millions with or without Lil G. Many greats before such as BHop, Mayweater, Pacman took less money in order to become the A side by defeating De La Hoya. If Lil G wants to take Canelo's shine then accept his terms and stop BS'ing.Comment

Asking for the same deal Manny got when you not Manny and can't even get on HBO PPV is pricing yourself out. He can't even get fights in vegas and has to beg uk fighters. Lame delusional ggg fans. He's the BBB side and ducking. He just wants more wade mismatches ol 35 year old hype boy needs more bums to feast on.Last edited by bigdunny1; 09-21-2016, 09:11 PM.Comment
