GGG: but..........i want ward at 164 for his titles, in 2017 ROFL.
Ward was talking sometime 2016. He should have been well stripped by then, he hasn't fought at 168 in 3 years. Ggg doesn't need a belt at 168 at this point, he's a Mw. He needs someone that brings some money, not a joker off BET asking for 50/50 and 12lbs+ in weight advantage. Nice deflection for fraud lineal champ Canelo tho

        Wade was a mandatory ******.

He's now targeting Jacobs and it has a good chance of happening next.

BJS is also now willing to come to the table.

Where does Canelo go from here? He ain't fighting Andrade is he? And if he gives the belt up, he'll have to move up to MW or get ridiculed. He's also injured. So paint me a picture. What if GG obtains Jacobs and BJS' belts? Then what? GG would have all of the belts and who else at MW could Canelo fight? The pressure to fight GG will be unbearable.

Now tell me how the **** he's trying to a kill a fight by asking for an overal, percentage? That overall percentage can be in Canelo's favour.

You probably think Floyd was being genuine with his flat fee to Manny.

You think K2 have been the roadblock since day 1? Ha! GTFOH.

        This forum is a cesspit.
No Johnson was the mandatory Wade was the replacement due to his injury second BJS is only coming to the table for the same reason everyone else is trying to do and that's because they seen flaws in Golovkin vs Brook and now the whole division wants to fight him when Canelo Ward and Mayweather would be the only one's to give Golovkin a run for his money and if you talk money 10 million is a legit price being that your trying to make a fight you can't out price yourself out

I'm saying that, if HBO was so cautious about the number to not go beyond platitudes of "we're just fine with how the event did", Loeffler being the only source to put out a number (with literally no updates to the information as fuller numbers came in), I'm calling bull**** on Loeffler.

We now seem to have the initial satellite numbers in; by the time the replay airs, we are likely to also have the initial cable numbers (which will lead to another round of projections).

As with everything, as more info comes in, I have no doubt that Pugmire and others will update their projections, something that literally no one actually ended up doing for Golovkin-Lemieux.

Alvarez's May PPV numbers will depend on the fight that he ends up staging; he'll likely do good business anyway.

The real question, though, is that, between now and September 2017, how many times will Golovkin actually have a fight beyond regular HBO?

          • 10 million for the biggest fight in boxing? That's like Pacquiao getting 40 million for a fight against Mayweather that exceeded 500 million in revenue.

I'm talking about a risk that may scupper the fight.

How do you know he thinks he can beat BJS no problem?

              That's nonsense.

He's not even fought a fully fledged MW yet.

If BJS fought and beat Canelo, GG would want to fight BJS to unify.

Oscar would never let him fight BJS in May after 8 months out, if he wanted a huge showdown with GG in September.

Yeah, Billy should have fought on his undercard. That would have been good exposure.

                Get in the real world.

Yes, you do call a BS offer a duck.

As long as it's fair, there is NOTHING WRONG with a percentage split of the total amount.

$10m could be a drop in the ocean compared to the total figure.

                  Have you got psychic powers?

Can you see into the future?

                  GG's career isn't over yet.

You have no idea who he'll end up fighting.

He could go on to fight DeGale, Ramirez or even Ward etc.

                  $10m isn't a huge amount.

                  Fan boy?

Is that your default answer for when a grown up doesn't agree with you?

How can he pricing himself out by asking for a percentage instead of a flat fee?

You don't even know what percentage K2 have asked for.

When the Floyd-Pacquiao talks finally kicked into gear, after nearly 5 years of honey****ing, how long did the final negotiations actually take? Heck, how long did the Lewis-Tyson talks take.

For a fight promoter, it's odd that you think that fights get done quickly.

There's plenty time till the proposed date, but the closer things get to an actual date, the more contentious the terms end up being (particularly with the risk of bad performances/bad business).

Alvarez's next fight, according to someone in his camp who's talking, is being eyed for May 2017, with the fight after that being a hopeful Alvarez-Golovkin fight September 2017; Gennady Golovkin and K2 would need to navigate at least 3 events between now and then. Golovkin has the likely Jacobs fight come December, another fight for Spring 2017, and a last fight Summer 2017.

If Golovkin ends up showing that the audience isn't there to pay up for his fights (whether that be on PPV or with increased ticket prices), why would Golden Boy keep their $10m package offer on the table?
Yes, negotiations take a while, but NOBODY tries to get someone to sign something a year out.

                      It's just a joke.

Oscar knew for a fact they were never going to agree to it, but it gives him a pass from all of the simpletons who are out there who don't know anything about business.

Also, how many clowns have misread this article?

There's lots of people who think that K2 have asked for the same split as what Manny got against Floyd. Yet those percentages have just been used as an example in this article. Nobody actually knows what K2 have asked for. All we know is that they want a split like what was used for the Floyd-Manny fight. So all that's happened so far, is that they've said they want a split instead of a flat fee. That's it.

This site is absolutely littered with morons.

                      It needs cleansing.
