I said that 200k would be shocking to me, so 180k is fine but still a lot of people willing to pay for that crap considering the opponent. 180,000+ people said **** it et's buy it lol

180k is still decent considering the greatest in the sport atm only sold 150k. Crawford only sold 60k, the sport took a big hit with the diva mayweather being the face. The f*g turned the sport into dancing with the stars.
Edit: ggg vs brook is reported at over 500k in the uk.Last edited by TheUnbiased; 09-20-2016, 01:48 PM.

Canelo still has a long ways to go and needs to really have some big fights. Cotto was a good start but just that a good start he kind of squandered that momentum.
Sucks for him that he really only has one option that gets people excited and that option is a pretty tough fight but if he won that he would be minted most likely. He does have a real shot to win that fight also because Canelo is actually a really good boxer when he doesn't have to really find the other guy.

Of course it's BS still no link or source still none of boxing insiders have reported any figures and the reason is because the satelite PPV buys don't even come back till later in the week. People wait till at least those figures come in before they extrapolate and make guesses and estimates off those. Satelite numbers come in Wed or Thur after a fight. Cable numbers come in like 10 days after a fight. Then you have the fact that Golden Boy sold PPVs themselves via live stream similar to what UFC has been doing for cord cutters who don't have a cable/satelite provider. So even if you have a source in the satelite or cable industry you can't know all the PPV buys unless you work for Golden Boy. Hell even HBO won't know the final numbers because HBO doesn't get a cut from Golden Boy live stream that's why their broadcast featuring Larry Merchant and a different announcing team then HBO. Golden Boy pockets all the money from live stream sales and doesn't have to share any figures or money with cable/satelite/HBO.Originally posted by Scipio2009 View Postcalling bull**** on this thread.
not all that long ago, it generally took a good 10 days before anyone could confidently put out a PPV projection that they could stand by, yet you're talking about the final number being known in 3 days.
gtfoh
TS is trolling there is no way he knows if this sold 180k or 2m PPV buys this early. Not even the guys who are paid to know have released figures.

Canelo does decent numbers but they will dwindle until he has a decent dance partner.
Floyd and Manny were far bigger attractions than Canelo. He won't be doing big numbers without the opponent. Just because he's the "biggest attraction" out of active fighters doesn't mean a lot when 99% of fighters today can barely fill their kitchen.
Canelo is not a superstar to the point where he will do big numbers no matter what. People want to see good fights for their money and his numbers will fall until it happens.
