  • Again Brook had some really nice moments, but the dude almost got KTFO in the opening round. He was f**king rocked and holding on for dear life. But much credit to him for responding beautifully. He executed some gorgeous combinations and really tested 3G for as long as the fight lasted.

But then came the fifth. Brook was utterly steamrolled in the fifth. F**k the eye excuse. **** happens sometimes when you're getting blasted square in the face with next level power. That **** ain't no fluke injury. Somebody was the direct cause of that injury, and that somebody was Gennady.

That fifth round, man, I was cringing for Brook. That entire fifth round until the stoppage was pure demolition. Good on Brook's team for calling it when they did or else that motherf**ker might've gotten homicide'd right there in the ring.

    • Brook, you would have done a great job in a 4 round fight

He'd own Cotto all 12 rounds if not a stoppage. Cotto was great. He's now yesterday's news. Lara or Canelo may be a different story vs Brook. And as far as annoying, the real annoyance is the GGG cult members not even brave enough to acknowledge your cult leader was tested harder than ever before in the pro ranks. And BTW, 2 judges had it 2 to 2, 1 judge had it 3 to 1 Brooks. And your cult leader was rocked in the 2nd. And breathing heavily by mid-fight. The same cult leader Abel was chewing out between rounds in a huge way.

Yet you still think the cult leader who gave himself a 4 of 10, is somehow invincible.

You conveniently forget how your GGG hero was getting embarrassed for a couple rounds there.

You should go back and watch the fight, this time without your cult leader's GGG Mail Order Blinders on. Your guy was sucking air big time by the 3rd.

I'm glad there are a few keen eyes who watched the fight. If Kell was up for it, a rematch would definitely be great.

GGG-aholics: Always wearing the earmuffs, hands tightly cupped over the ears, singing loudly 'LA LA LA LA LA I can't hear anything!'... anytime the facts are stated of their cult leader getting owned for a couple rounds. Must be literally physically painful to accept reality. Yes, we know, Brook lost. Yes, we get it. Yes we saw it happen. Yet YOU don't get GGG was tested in a big way. And you'll apparently never develop the stones to admit it. You're laying ground work for everyone laughing at you dolts when your hero gets annihilated within the next 2 years tops.
you do not seem to be too bright, i was rooting for Brook and there are many posts here before the fight of me stating it.

        • Golovkin Was Getting Tired, Breathing Heavy! Well why didn't you beat him then?

          • It's a 12 round fight. Brook had flashes being the faster, slicker fighter. Golovkin is rarely going to fight guys as fast as Brook so it makes sense that he got tagged a bit. In the end Brook was rocked multiple times and ultimately stopped. I don't buy talk like that when the fighter gets stopped so early. If it was the championship rounds then ok maybe.

That fight looked like a big man fighting a smaller man as predicted. No different than Canelo/Khan. You can look good all that you want but you have to finish the fight.

Brook fans riding high on their moral victory instead of disappointment of Brook losing.

Funny if you side with any fighter here you get labeled right away.

              • Respect to Brook for taking the fight and putting up a commendable performance, though he was getting ready to get laid out bad. Its too bad that he sustained such an injury so early that obviously hampered his vision, though I didn't see it going much better for him if it didn't happen. In fact, in a way I think it may have sharpened his performance up considerably. Like he said, he knew that his eye was jacked up, and he obviously felt the power so I am sure that his senses for survival and returning fire were amplified.

Yea, he lacks power in that division.

                    • Brook didn't embarrass himself against Golovkin at all. This is a stretch though, more his ego talking than his reason.

It's hard for me to not roll my eyes when a guy who was stopped solidly talks about how they were on the way to winning when what's done is done.

Reminds me of the classic Vitali vs. Lennox argument.
