That's great guys! When Alvarez is 30 and Golovkin is 40 let boxing history and resume's do its thing!Comment

who's alt is this?GGG's resume may not be too impressive but at least he has fought people his size (mostly) and in their primes. Martin Murray, Macklin, Rosado, Geale, Rubio, Monro Jr. Lemiuex, Proksa, Stevens and Kell Brook. Not only did he beat them but he demolished them with ease and never looked hurt or struggled. People seem to forget that while he has not beat any one truly elite, he has faced some solid opposition and the way he has beaten them is extremely impressive.Comment

Lmao...
He may duck GGG but let's not act like he has a crap resume..
Undefeated trout
Lara
Cotto
Titles in 2 divisions..
Sells 50k in tickets
Sold over 3 million PPVs in his career
Yeah dude is a total bust... LmaoComment

You can pick apart any fighter's resume if you wanna be pedantic. There ain't no 26 year old in boxing with a better resume than Canelo. His wins over Lara, Cotto and Trout are very impressive, those are signature wins.Comment

A lot of times you see the argument it's good for a 26 year which is code for it's not that good. He's resume is fairly decent.
The reason the age argument is silly is because there's no guaranteed longevity is boxing, when Hall of Fame selection comes up they don't say, "Well his resume was good for a 26-year-old so he gets my vote."
What happens if Canelo faces Golovkin and gets a brain bleed and has to retire? He would then be a retired boxer with a decent resume not worthy of certain Hall of Fame induction.
It's probably certain ODH had a better resume than Hopkins at 26-years-old but since Hopkins stayed in boxing a decade longer his resume is better.
Simply put Canelo's resume is okay but the kid needs to get his head out his ass and stop talking about who he fought because he hasn't done much. He wants to secure greatness he needs to spend less time talking about it and actually go do it by fighting Golovkin, another borderline Hall of Famer in his era. Everyone's prime isn't the same.Comment

Yeah but some act like it is Canelo who is well into his 30's and need to make all the fights you want him to make within the next year and that is not the case. If anything stepping in with the best at a young age gives him a pass for me because I KNOW he is not afraid to fight the best and his track record proven that but some want to throw that out of the door because you want him to make the GGG fight and I understand that as well but regardless, his resume speaks for itself. That's the thing though. Yes he's in a great place at his young age to land multi-million dollar fights. But he can't just reverse his career trajectory like Danny and fight no hopers. If he is what he is being sold as. An all time great trying to prove excellence in all places....then he needs to be looking forward/raising the bar. Not making it look like his team is panicking and buying time to temporarily avoid Golovkin.
I think he will give us the fights we want eventually just on their own terms and that is what boxing is and always will be. Hagler had to literally WAIT for Leonard with his Detached Retina injury then when Leonard did finally agree to fight he had a TON OF DEMANDS, you wanna know what Hagler did? AGREED TO THEM ALL just to get Leonard in the ring!
Mayweather did not invent A-Side Boxers being Male Divas, they always been that way when they was the #1 Generator in the sport. You accept everything they want or you get passed on and they go fight someone else because remember, A-SIDE DON'T NEED ANYBODY they can generate on their own. They can fight YOU OR ME and generate money lolLast edited by sicko; 09-18-2016, 09:13 PM.Comment

It's not the record of an ATG but the guy is just coming into his prime and has a lot ahead.
Mosley was a decent test for a kid who was 22 (?) and unproven at the time.
Smith, Khan, Kirkland, etc are on-par with anyone ggg has fought.
Trout had just clowned Cotto at the time.
Cotto was having a surprisingly good career revival.
Lara is a DAMN good win and the fact he even took that fight when it offered nothing but street cred is a testament to his heart.
I'm not even a Canelo fan but the hate is very transparent. If you're on a mission to point out weak resumes, I can think of a few....Comment
