However everyone else IMO should be aiming at fighting at least 3 times a year. 2 HBO/Showtime worthy fights, and 1 stay busy gimme fight.
IF not people will forget about them.
So very true. "Have you seen this new guy fight? When did he last fight? January. Then no. I haven't seen him and don't care."

Clearly Ray Arcel thought that activity was important and very beneficial for fighters. He comments on this about six minutes in.

Any confirmation of Danny Garcia's next fight before the year ends? Or will he complete the twelve month gap between his previous fight and the next, presumably on January next year?

I haven't heard of anything. I guess he's done enough by beating Guerrero. Pretty exciting stuff.

Dang, man! Great breakdown! This is exactly the point I've been making. This era is dying because of inactivity. These younger guys especially should be in the ring more often. I'm not saying it's their faults necessarily. It's the fault of the promoters to a great degree. These guys need to be out there swinging a lot more often. 3-4 fights a year isn't demanding much. Guys in the old days fought like 10-15 times a year. I understand fighters not wanting to do that. However, once or twice isn't good for exposure or keeping one's skills sharp. Lots of rust in this business these days.

And many of those guys are not PBC guys. Kinda points to the truth. It's hard for fighters to fight 2 or 3x a year nowadays. Especially if they want their fights televised.

If you're going to fight cans, do as Tyson did early on and blaze through them.
If you're a megastar who has proven himself and is getting on in years, then a couple fights a year makes absolute sense.
