EXACTLY! People are really stretching themselves to pretend like what Canelo is doing in not impressive. Literally no other fighter today is filling 50K especially at these prices. Manny tried twice and did around 40k in his prime one of which was against a popular mexican. Canelo doing this against Smith who is brining no fanbase to that stadium

not hard when the ticket price has a wider range for people to choose from --

canelo - $750, $500, $300, $200, $100, $85, $50, $40.

pac - $700, $500, $300, $200, $100, $50

pac vs clottey gathered up 51,000 fans at the stadium, this was against clottey!

no one is comparing canelo to marg, we are comparing canelo vs pac-marg... i said he was very popular, but never said he was chavez sr or canelo, still popular enough to drag 20k mexicans to that fight...

both manny and floyd are superstars in america, why do they need to go to africa or manila???
africa and manila dont have the same ticket prices as in america not even close, canelo could do the same in mexico and no one is bringing that up...

They giving away free tickets to make it look more full and then they probally still wont fill it up...
It matters because this defines a superstar....
A superstar will draw casuals who know nothing about boxing,don't eve like it, but still come just to see the person in real life...

margarito was never on canelo's level in terms of popularity for the mexicans.

canelo could fight a bear and the mexicans will support him because that's their number #1 guy right now. the fact that pac who is not a native here, could draw that much is an accomplishment so im not sure why the need to compare as if this is a competition when its clear why canelo will prolly out do manny. mexico aint that far from texas. philipines is about half an ocean away. most of pac's fans that support him is from the states, very few will travel all the way from the philipines. where as canelo, he has the fan base here in the states, now add the thousands that will be coming in from mexico to see him fight.

He does and i will congratulate him on that and he deserves it,he worked hard for it,i wont take that away from him so respect to him for that,
but that dont make him a superstar....
