If this is true then that pretty much means that K2 is not expecting the Jacobs fight in November. That's way too many fights in a short period of time.

Which also tells me that they're expecting Jacobs to vacate the WBA Regular belt. I'm guessing that they'll decline any offer for the fight and force a purse bid, which will force Jacobs to accept 25% (as per WBA rules). I don't think he'll accept that unless Haymon puts up an enormous bid which is unlikely.

That's unlikely because he'll likely drop the belt. Once he does, they have no reason to fight him.

All K2 has to do is just turn down every offer until the deadline and then go to a purse bid. At which point Jacobs will have no choice but to vacate. Unless he wants to fight for less than $1M.

If Jacobs vacates then they're not under WBA pressure anymore and go look to fight Saunders instead...

What I think will happen is the fight goes to a purse bid, Jacobs vacates, Golovkin fights Saunders in February, then fights Tureano Johnson in May/June then fights Canelo in September if he hasn't lost yet.

I mean unless Haymon puts up a massive bid, or if Jacobs accepts significantly less money than he was hoping for, I can't see Golovkin vs. Jacobs happening.

And if Jacobs vacates and Saunders ducks and Canelo ducks - these are not win win scenarios. Just because Jacobs vacates doesn't make the Saunders fight more likely. Golovkin will be lucky if 2 out of Johnson/Jacobs/Saunders/Canelo happen before end of 2017 - the other three would all prefer to fight Canelo and Canelo would prefer any of those 3 over Golovkin. Go figure.

Saunders then Jacobs, then Canelo at the end of the year. 2017 will be one hell of a year for boxing!

Why not Jacobs first? Have I missed something. BJS is fighting next month so I can see Feb as being a reasonable timeframe, but GGG is looking for an opponent and the WBA mandates that the title defence should take place within 120 days which would make Jacobs the frontrunner for the end of this year.

Jacobs has said he thinks the match up is a mega fight and he wants to be paid accordingly. IMO K2 will pressure Jacobs to vacate by forcing a purse bid or pay Jacobs step-aside money to fight BJS, giving Uncle Al and DJ time to figure out what they're gonna do.

In Twitter they just told Jacobs while he is preparing to train to dance (fight), don't forget to train in signing the contract.
