He never stopped moving forward and handily won the first half of the fight. Cuadras got the better of him in the second half so it was close but this wasn't a robbery. I cannot recall a fighter getting bashed so much after such a gutsy performance. Smh.
Nope, Gonzalez lost the first round clearly.

      Nobody are saying that...

      We are saying this:

Cuadras had the FASTER hands, better feet, better defense, and landed the harder shots and I am not even talking about his face. Gonzalez looked like he was on his way out in the 11th-12th everytime cuadras touched the body. Good for Gonzalez for making it to the 12th but it was telling that the better shots were landed by Cuadras. Gonzalez was arm punching in the championship rds. Cuadras only downside was not sticking to the body but it probably because the head was so easy to find.

The fault of Cuadras is that he is not an africanamaerican boxer and he doesn't have the support of HBO.

I was talking about in the thread... Of course there is going to be people saying that Cuadras won. But in general, everyone thought the right man won. Except, of course, mexicans.

I'm Mexican and Chocolatito won a clear decision.
I like come forward fan friendly fighters, for me Boxing transcends Ethnicity.

I was reading some quotes from Gonzalez today about him being prepared to take part in a rematch.

It was an excellent fight, i'd be happy to see them go at it again.

I edged roy in the first fight 115-113, but many people felt he lost that fight. that's why he fought tarver again.

cuadras deserves a rematch for his title. just as tarver did

Sure Cuadras landed some good shots on Gonzalez and stunned him a few times, but he was also stunned by Gonzalez as well. I believe Cuadras fought the best fight he could to keep his belt but Choco was better. Choco threw more, landed more and pressured most of the fight. I was there and unlike on tv where you can only see the two fighters, in person you can see the whole ring. Cuadras moved well but he also ran at times. Running to get away and not countering isn't boxing. Of course, he did not do this the whole fight but in a close fight, one the judges saw, the aggressor will always get the win especially when he lands more in which case Choco did. And if you watch the fight again you will also see that Cuadras did most of the holding when he didn't want to engage or get hurt. If the smaller Choco wasn't that tough then I'm sure the bigger stronger Cuadras would have mowed through him, but he didn't. Cuadras did not cuz he knew he couldn't stand toe to toe with the smaller guy for 12 rounds. In this case the smaller contender took the title from the bigger champ the old school way. Choco pressured him the entire night and landed more shots though taking some on his way in. And even though Cuadras landed some good shots, he needed to land more and harder punches to keep Choco from charging all night. Unfortunately for Cuadras he couldn't stop Choco in his tracks and this was a huge stumbling block for Cuadras. The pressure fighter landed more than the boxer mover and that's why Choco won. Great fight for both but Choco deserved the win. And if you where there like I was you would have seen how much Cuadras ran around the ring at times. If he wanted to keep his belt then perhaps he should have engaged more and ran less...

Boxing also means hitting and slipping or blocking or catching on the arms... Doesn't mean leaving the area entirely so you don't get hit. If your gonna use the leave the area strategy then you'd better make sure you hit the other guy more than he hits you. Sorry Cuadras. Although Cuadras may be the better dancer, he isn't the better fighter. Tough win for Choco but it's amazing watching him cut off the ring on a skilled dancer. Had Choco not applied pressure then Cuadras would have danced his way to a boring draw or loss still..

Could not agree with you more. And no I don't want to see a rematch. There are other good fighters for Choco to face whom he's never fought before. He's in demand and everyone wants a piece of him. Just no time for rematches while he's winning especially since he's getting older. If the Estrada and Cuadras of the world want a piece of him then I suggest that they fight each other before asking for a rematch. If he rematches everyone he's beaten then we will never see Choco fight anyone new. They had there chance and they can beat each other up working their way back to Choco if and when Chcoc is interested. They've been beaten and can get in line like everyone else..

                      You're high.

Cuadras had a lot of nice moments, and those moments stood out because people get numb to the fact that Gonzalez puts in steady work from the second each round opens. So his moments don't really stand out. Dude is a machine.

I give a lot of credit to Cuadras for fighting to win, and he should be damn proud of himself -- but he didn't win the fight. That was a clear Chocolatito victory. 8-4 Gonzalez. Maybe 7-5 if you wanna be really generous.
