This sounds like Eddie is sending his lamb to slaughter. Let the guy have his surgery and heal up. He may never come back the same.

Now, depending on how good Brook really is, it may or may not be good for Brook. He would beat Khan easily, probably Cotto but who knows where Cotto is at now. Canelo I'm not sure. We'll have to see what Brook's power is at 154. But these are pretty good, not great, fights. For them to be great fights we need proof first that Brook is actually a top 154. If he could dominate someone like Austin Trout first that would tell us a lot, make these other matchups much more interesting.
Thats good for Brook, not so much for boxing. If that does happen though Kell better kiss the ground his manager walls on because thats nice money win or lose.

It would be, for as long as it lasts. I think Canelos power will catch up to him in the championship rounds.

Tbh I understood the stoppage, their fighter lives to fight another day. If it had gone a few more rds id say hed be shot but they preserved their guy & if the eye heals well he will be the same guy.

Brook is a good fighter..that being said, he's a good WW, but all anyone has to do is watch his fights with Carson Jones to realize he's not quite slick enough to pull off a win against Canelo. Saul has improved a lot since the Mayweather schooling imo. If brook was able to move for 12 rds slip and counter, I think he would have something for Canelo, but I'd be more concerned after the eye injury. I think in the WW division he would've beaten Thurman, and some other good fighters, but spence is likely going to be the next top WW.

What is comes down to is Brook is excellent in the first 5-6 rds of a fight, takes a lot of punches for a few rds and will often finish pretty strong.

Canelo beat Cotto, but I don't think that Brook could beat him either. Cotto got hit very little with big shots in that fight, Cotto is A level, but slipped a bit. Brook is a solid B level fighter, not quite good enough for the elites.
                Great post! I agree totally.

Brook is a solid B level, no more.

well golovkin fans truly believe that brook will beat canelo......

for me its a disgrace fight and canelo will hurt brook way more the golovkin ever did.

but i already predicted this. brook gets stopped at middleweight goes down to 154 and gets absolutely hurt.

people saying that brook would be an elite talent at 154 are delusional. even jarrett hurd puts his lights out. that division is no joke and filled with sharks......

Physically yes, mentally not so sure. He definitely deserves a tune up if he campaigns at 154. Hopefully they don't feed him to the Wolves.

As for the fight itself, Brook won't be winning many rounds, Canelo is quicker on the trigger, better counter puncher and combination puncher than GGG. On top of that, he can actually fight on the inside, this will end somewhere around the mid rounds.
