Why Didn't Andre Ward Accept 164, 50/50 when he was the b-side?

I know GGG said 154-168 several years ago just like Ward said he would drop down to 154 for Mayweather. So that is a wash right there.

But at the time, that was a more than fair offer. #1 160 vs #1 168. Meet in the middle. And 50/50 when GGG had higher ratings.

I think at some point posters should understand that everything said in an interview isn't a part of negotiations. there was never a contract offer to ward where his team and GGG team sat down to negotiate a fight... and fighters saying they would go down for mayweather (bhop, ward, etc) were only saying it for the pay day it wasn't serious talk. at some point you have to be an adult and discern things.

Nice distortion of the facts, but the more likely scenario would be that team g string knew Ward couldn't make 164 so they insisted upon it. That way they could save face by not having to out and out duck Ward but wouldn't have to actually fight him either.
