Well its not too far from the truth. Brook hasd nothing left and it was just ftarget practice by the end.
But I'm sure ref wouldn't have allowed it to go on much longer

This is real life, this ain't a video game. The condition of these athletes are the #1 thing, and with a ruined athlete, you miss out on a **** ton of money. It's like a race car. You don't red line the thing for an entire race, instead, you concede defeat in order to maintain the car, and be able to use it for future races.

If Brook would've continued, fight fans would've said, "wow, fight of the year, Brook is a warrior!", meanwhile he's sitting in a hospital bed, and the prime of his career is cut short, because he went those extra rounds with GGG. His trainer is a damn smart man, and looked out for the big picture for the both of them. He knows Brook is gonna be his only big name fighter he might ever train for the rest of his career, so why the hell would you ruin him?

      Bravo to the trainer.

Also, not to mention Brook's right eye was almost closed shut. You'd have to be insane to let your fighter continue fighting GGG with one eye.
He told his corner that he couldn't see in rd 2. Had he continued with that broken eye socket, I have little doubts that his career could have been ended right there in the ring. I'd have loved to see a stone cold KO, don't get me wrong, but his corner saved him from permanent damage.

I agree, but that's a long, long way from a doctor from Harvard saying that Brook would have died. A little bullshyte here and there is OK but this out and out lying has got to stop!

It was a very smart move. It was fairly obvious Brook wasn't going to win the fight from round 5, he was going down hill fast. All that was going to happen is that he was going to take a sustained beating so what's the point? - Yeah it's not as entertaining for us viewers but we're not the ones taking the beating and no emotional attachment to the fighter or their families like a trainer who's been with him since the age of 9.

Plus that's another point, a man who's known Brook almost all his life probably has a better judgement than us on when his man has had enough and is finished.

Of course we like to see a conclusive knockout to end the fight but that's really for our own self gratification, which isn't right really when it's mans health at risk.

Great effort from Brook though. Great stoppage from the corner.

kell crook is sitting in a hospital bed anyway. I bet if GGG eye was the same you would have wanted to see him beaten until a KO

                great stoppage

kell brook is a heck of a fighter, and he was murdering himself to make 147. he can still be a very viable 154 lber, and maybe even try at middleweight in the coming years. that fight had gotten out of hand, and the corner was clearly planning to stop the fight the second they saw that it wasn't going brook's way.

you guys have to undrestand that continuous head trauma can kill a fighter. really. they can f#cking die in there. they can lose their eyesight, too, with an injury to the orbital bone.

according to brook he was seeing triple. you don't just aim for the guy in the middle, like you do in the movies. great stoppage. brook should be thankful that he had a team that cared about him. robert garcia sent margarito out there until he was almost blind, and it nearly cost him his career and was without a doubt the end of his run as a contender.

But yeah, even with all that, Garcia is a dumb ass trainer.
lol aint like he was gonna get paid extra for every round he last lol, should have stopped it but garcia was young and naive I believe that was his first big fight ever.

those blood thirsty fans who booed, bet they changed their opinions once they found out Brook has a broken orbital socket.
First job of a trainer is to look after their boxers health and wellbeing so congrates to Dominic Ingle for his timely interception which stopped the injury been catastrophic, possibly allowing Brook to continue his career.(We have to wait on that one).
Boxers tend to be too brave for their own good so it takes courage to for a trainer especially in a high profile fight with 20,000 people screaming, to stop a fight.

I didn't watch the fight completely. Just watched the rounds, and fast forwarded all the round breaks.
