Brook's trainer is freaking smart as hell for throwing in the towel right there. What do you want him to keep taking punishing shots from GGG, and taking years off the prim of his career, thus losing money for him and his trainer in the long run, or live to fight another day, and keep Brook's physical condition intact for the prime of his career where he can continue to make good money for 6-7 more fights, instead of being shot, and losing a bunch of his next fights, because of the war he potentially could've gone through with GGG.
This is real life, this ain't a video game. The condition of these athletes are the #1 thing, and with a ruined athlete, you miss out on a **** ton of money. It's like a race car. You don't red line the thing for an entire race, instead, you concede defeat in order to maintain the car, and be able to use it for future races.
If Brook would've continued, fight fans would've said, "wow, fight of the year, Brook is a warrior!", meanwhile he's sitting in a hospital bed, and the prime of his career is cut short, because he went those extra rounds with GGG. His trainer is a damn smart man, and looked out for the big picture for the both of them. He knows Brook is gonna be his only big name fighter he might ever train for the rest of his career, so why the hell would you ruin him?
Bravo to the trainer.
Also, not to mention Brook's right eye was almost closed shut. You'd have to be insane to let your fighter continue fighting GGG with one eye.
