When the job is done meet at a specific meeting place, to give the other half. Never give the full amount to be sure. Make sure they do it where no witnesses are so you are not incriminated by chance. Always scope out where the individual works and what his habits are for at least 2 weeks to fget a good idea when a good time to strike is. Pay them a 10% bonus if it is done with no mistakes and that's a work job in a nutshell.

That's a great deal for Golovkin then but then i guess he was a big reason the fight was so big. Brook isn't a PPV fighter without Golovkin so maybe Hearn was willing to give more rope than he usually does otherwise he has no big fight.

I think the point stands though, the lead promoter will usually have to stump up enough money where the opponents promoter is happy with their cut, otherwise they'd rather just put on their own event.
      absolutely.........

The problem with making fights nowadays is that the interest in the fight is not mutual. One fighter wants the fight and the other doesn't want it. The motivation of beating a top guy no longer have any value, "I can't beat him, so I might as well demand huge amounts of money."

I understand it somewhat, because truth be told "legacy" doesnt pay the mortgage. But todays fighters have taken it to a ridiculous level.......

Arum gets a certain percent of what Pacquiao makes. If AB or Garcia want more, then Pacquiao gets less. The fighters get paid according to how much the fight is supposed to make through ppv and the gate of the actual event. Arum is pretty much saying that AB and Garcia aren't a big enough draw to get paid what they are asking. Now if it were say someone like Canelo who is a big draw then Canelo would get paid that much because more people would pay to watch the event.

And the fact some fighters have been getting paid close to or more than $1m to fight bums, so they want $5m+ to fight a real fighter, even when it's mathematically unrealistic because every fight has a budget and estimated revenue.

So when the reality hits them that all they can make against a real opponent is say $2m, then they will opt for two easy fights instead.

So yeah, that also leaves very little incentive to fight the best fighters. Realistically, unless you're fighting Floyd or Manny or someone like that, then you're not going to be making $5m+.

If GGG only makes around $3m a fight, then fighters demanding $5m to fight him are in dreamland. So where's the incentive to fight him for $2m when you can fight an average contender twice and make that money.

Overpaying fighters on the way up is killing some fights. They're not hungry for the big fight anymore.

You guys are taking about big money fighters, but nobody wants to talk about fighters on their way up. A lot of times they don't get paid if the promotion loses money.

It happened to me several times. I didn't get paid when I fought Lupe Guerra because the promotion lost money.

Another time I didn't get paid is after I did an exhibition on a Mark Fernandez undercard. That time Lightning Lonnie Smith took my gloves off of me after the fight while I was in the corner, then he left the building with the brand new set of gloves. The promoter charged me $300.00 bucks that I was supposed to get paid for the 4 round exhibition. Smith was the lightweight champ at the time.

I had a trainer/manager and he used to take out a trainers cut, and a managers cut. Along with training expenses, pre-fight physical costs, and gym dues. One time after a fight he told me "I owed him money".

                    This is all true.

Crawford made $1.21 million for fighting Lundy. His fight with Postol would not have happened if HBO insisted on doing it on regular cable. Broner was already making more than $1 mil per fight with names like Theophane, Khabib, two Molinas, Taylor. Same thing with Danny Garcia.

And guess what these 3 fighters have in common aside from the things mentioned above? They're all pissed at the prospect of fighting Pacquiao. Garcia wanted $40 million and Broner wants $10 million. Plus with angry tone in their voices.

Bottom line is overpaying fighters for fighting Lundy type opponents for more than $1 mil certainly affected how fights are being negotiated today.
