Brook ruined his career..won't be able to make 147 again...loses to top 154 pounders?

Brook came into the fight in the high 170s...mostly muscle..that means he won't be able to make 147 anymore and will have to fight @ 154..not only did he lose out on money, but the top 154 pounders beat him. Alvarez won't fight him, but lesser known fights will and will beat him..Charlo X2, Andrade, and Lara all beat Brook.

So Brook, I hope it was worth it.

Where is the proof of him being in the high 170s?

Not sure he could make 147 again anyway, and Spence was on deck

I think he has even chances of beating top guys at 154 as he does at 147

I agree. Letting your body fill out like that makes it much harder to cut back down to a weight class you were already struggling with. There's too much competition at 154 for him to be a title holder. He'll probably go back to fighting no-namers for a while. Maybe at 154.

          He weighed 159.

All he needs to do is give his body a few months to rest, muscle mass doesn't maintain itself. There is a difference between killing yourself to take weight off quickly and taking your time and doing it right.

He will make 154 comfortably and he is good enough to win a lot of fights in that division, he may even decide to fight again at 147.

I think he'll do well at 154, none of those guys are killers apart from Canelo who will probably vacate and move up after Smith. Lara is a tough night for him, but all those fights are winnable, and he can certainly pick up a belt. I have a feeling he won't be the only one moving up, I think you'll see Spence, Thurman, and a lot of these guys move up in the next 12-18 months.

Plus he did just make about £3-4 million, so I'm sure people would disagree with you on that front also. This game first and foremost is about achieving financial security, in an ideal world both legacy enhancing wins and money should come hand in hand, but thats not always the case and Brook at 30 was probably worried he may never get that large 7 figure pay day that his talent deserves, so he took a risk. That fight would have done a lot for his profile though, and now he can concentrate on making big fights in more 50/50 scenarios with both UK ppv and American TV on board.

He was having the same problem as Golovkin, in a way, which was that his team couldn't really pay the other champions enough to get them in the ring because the numbers weren't there and Brook is too risky a proposition for the money that was on offer, which is why the Vargas fight fell through for example.

I think it was a calculated move, think he wasnt gonna make 147 anyways and the plan was always to move to 154, and why not go to 160 make a huge fight with ggg that might land him a huge money fight with canelo, he can bank being a pawn in ggg vs canelo media war, canelo might wnat to see if he can stop brook faster than ggg did you never know and all that is only possible with going to 160 first, cause had he move to 154 and look meh than the ggg fight would have definitely never happened.

If I'm being honest, the only fighter at 154 I'm favoring over Brook is Andrade. If he were to fight Canelo or Lara, that's 50-50 and I think Brook beats the rest.

He just made 5 Million, dont really see that as losing out. Plus he broke his eye socket, so he's not going to be fighting anytime soon. A good 6 months out before he can even spar I reckon. Will most likely have to vacate his title due to the injury.

I expect Khan to come crawling out of the woodwork at some point down the line, that will be a massive money fight, which i think he would win. I don't see why Canelo wouldnt fight him either or Cotto. Plus I reckon with such a long layoff alot of the muscle will have gone, unless he keeps up the weights and it was on ringside he was eating 9 meals a day for this. So I don't really see why he couldnt make WW again either.

I mean, he has only win over a world class fighter, and has turned that into multiple massive paydays. Now, instead of fighting Spence, he can set up another massive payday against Canelo or BJS.

Id say he's doing just fine.
