Yeah man, that's what I was saying in my post fight review (I'm going to PM you with the link). I'm not saying he has no flaws and what he did the last night was dangerous but whenever his opponents fail to make him respect their power, he throws any gameplay out of window and goes straight for the kill. Anytime he feels that there is no big risk, he takes adventage of it. He wasn't playing that way against Stevens nor Lemieux.

So GGG could have beaten Kell like he did Lemieux and not get hit but choose not to.....riiiigggghhhtttt
I don't see why you wouldn't believe so, if you've seen GGG fight before today.

Choosing not to use something in the ring doesn't mean you don't have it dude.

Fury chose to not use all of his tools vs Wlad.

Floyd chose to let off the gas often in easier fights.

Manny chose to not throw shots at Margarito in the closing rounds.

These are all examples of fighters making concious choices in the ring.

What's funny here is Brook did a great job regardless, and I have no doubt he could have potentially been primed for an upset if the fight doesn't get stopped. Plenty of fighters have fought through broken bones before.

I hope you don't think I am taking anything away from Brook here. I am as disappointed as anyone in the stoppage.

But if you think Brook "made" GGG look "bad", you need to rewatch the fight.

      • Brook proved he is legit. He appeared to be giving GGG trouble in spots and to my eyes looked like he stunned him once. Never thought GGG was in danger. GGG seemed not to care a lot about the potential power from Brook and was willing to open up and risk getting tagged.... which he did. I don't think GGG would fight others in quite the same way. If he is so beatable let's see others step up and take the test.

But he literally sat on the ropes and GGG teed off his biggest right hand a Brook didn't even sag...

I'm not arguing the result...I'm arguing Kell's actual want for greatness now. I'll admit, I'm butthurt. Not because he lost, I knew that was a possibility. But when he shows he has the speed and power to make GGG keeps his hands away and was actually winning the fight up close it pisses me off when he fights dumb.

Brook was winning the Jab game man....GGG landed one jab that snapped Brook's head back as he back away.... The rest were glancing at best

Damaged eye sockets happen....he was fighting a huge puncher. But to act like it's not an injury that inhibited Kell's ability to fight is moronic.

Put it this way...If you asked Me who I would want to walk in the ring as if I was in the fight...GGG or Brook...It'd still be Brook.
One thing I will give you is that if the fight doesn't get stopped, and even moreso if Brook's eye socket doesn't get fractured, Brook very well might win a decision if he was able to continue that pace.

I said it before the fight, Brook is a well rounded, intelligent boxer, he can give GGG trouble if he doesn't get stopped. He did get stopped though, as as interesting as a rematch would be, I don't think it happens.

          • We'll see who Brook fights and how successful he is at 154. It'll be tough to keep winning considering the talent there but assuming he does maybe 3 fights and then had a fight at 160 I wouldn't mind seeing a rematch. By the time that happens Golovkin's reign may be over though.

            • BROOK destroys Canelo lol. Whom Gennady let hit him at WILL lol and still destroyed him.

Brook is just too good for Canelo, he is a superior fighter period. He would floyd Canelo only worse because Brook is a WAY STRONGER and BIGGEr version of floyd.

Brook probably rather fights Canelo or BJS/Eubank or something like that at 160. A rematch won't happen.

Brook would be a cool addition to 154 though. That division is stacked.

GGG had a terrible gameplan, because he was trying to give the fans a show, he was winging huge ****s that missed that tire you out a lot, and he still kept trying it, caring about nothing but a street fight, a big drama show.

GGG did everything wrong, and still broke Brook's orbital bone, had him absolutely done retreating around the ring throwing zero punches by the 5th round, and stopped him in the first half of the fight.

No one else in the sport is doing that. We haven't seen anyone in decades walk through punches like this, and let opponents hit him, because he sees it as so easy that it's his responsibility to make it competitive, make it a show, but even when he does it's still competitive.

If anything, GGG is buying his own hype and that hurts any fighter, but even doing that, he is still performing like this. We haven't seen anything like this.

His capacity to deliver power is the best in the sport. His capacity to absorb power is the best in the sport. What else do you guys want? His plus/minus is second best. Do you guys also want him to have elite level elusiveness? If he had the best power, the best chin, and the best defense, he would literally be a perfect fighter created in a lab, the best of all time. He has raised everyone's expectations so high that people are shocked to see him hit, like you were expecting a perfect robot.

That's not how it works. But even letting his opponents hit him, he still has an elite plus/minus. Imagine if he fought with the strategy of the Lemieux fight every fight, he would have the best plus/minus in the sport. GGG could win any fight just by using his jab for 12 rounds. He doesn't even need to do anything else. He could just fight like the Klitschkos have, jabs and a few right hands when it opens up, and it would be an impossible style to beat given GGG's power, timing, and chin.

But he wants to give the fans a show. I know as fans we're not used to that after a decade of Mayweather, Ward, etc, but it just makes GGG that much more special. Still, it's ******, and he may be believing his own hype. That can be the downfall of any fighter but don't think that means he's not the most talented fighter alive. He is, #1 pound for pound, and until he gets old, which may be starting to happen, or fights ****** against Jacobs or Canelo, you can expect him to keep dominating.
if u honestly think brook is the same natural size as ggg u are literally insane. ya brook put a lot of weight on to try and chisle up and most of it went to his legs but if u cant look at the 2 in the ring and see that ggg is bigger not by just a little then u sir are a ggg fan boy

Na, Brook was getting broken down. No way he would've finished the fight.

                    • Good stoppage...no need for Brook to take a beating from the naturally bigger stronger fighter...Brook did well in spots...nothing for him to feel bad about...he's a tough mfer..salute

As for punk ass Lil G...he better hope Nelo keep swerving him...because I can see Nelo ****ing him all up...his defense is leaky plus he's not gonna get any better..he is what we see
