For the record, I think Oscar is full of it. He clearly doesn't really want this fight. But If Canelo truly wants it he needs to demand it. So far he's done nothing to make me think he wants to fight Golovkin. I can't put it all on Oscar.

He can make just as much money over the course of time. You don't realize how young Canelo is and how old GGG is. Or you're just ignoring it. You know how quickly the game changes. There can be another fighter just as popular as GGG in two years. My point is when you get an opportunity like this at 35 years old you have to take it. The only other PPV fight for him out there is the Ward/Kovalev winner and he's not gonna take this fight. Canelo has another 10 years of earning money and will surpass what he'd make with GGG in 3 or 4 fights. Time is on Canelo's side. GGG has no bargaining strength in this situation and you know it. Me personally, I would reserve judgment until the offer was made. The ppv sales will mainly be Alvarez fans and Golovkin fans who want to see him fight Alvarez so he should get the lion share of the upside if not all if the flat fee is legit. Not sure why so many are in love with the no one will fight Trip argument. It's like no matter what gets said, the same chumps come out with the same stump speech.

GGG is the B side that's why he is traveling to a foreign land where brook is the A star and all the fans in that fight will be cheering and rooting for brook. Khan is a bigger star in the uk then brook yet he had to come to canelo for their fight not the other way around like ggg has to. Canelo filling up a football stadium will have almost 3x the attendance of any ggg fight. There is a reason he don't fight in Vegas or these huge baseball and football stadiums in the US like canelo.

What De La Hoya is saying is that he is going to go out of his way to avoid making an Alvarez/Golovkin fight and he will continue to try to twist the PR effort to try to make it sound like it is not his fault.
