Was it crazy that Amir Khan made 10mil+ against Canelo? Most would say yes. And this is a better matchup, with a road warrior champion making his UK debut. If you're looking for where I get such a high estimate?...well, it took all of 11minutes for the fight to sell out...which means that much more people are going to be willing to buy the ppv.
You know, before the fighters even see a single dollar, the networks & the promoters have already taken their percentage, right? But if I'm right, and if the Brits are truly willing to pay to see their fighter against GGG, then we're talking about a huge amount of income generated. I can pereceive each fighter getting around 6mil each or more because of not just the ppv being generated in the UK, but also the money HBO has to fork over for televising it in the US. If you want to disagree, what's your reasons?Comment

Here is reference for my quotes. This is the FACT that exists in REALITY. But in your mind it is not valid since you simply disregard it. Time to move on with your GGG obsession. Simply disregard his existence and keep following Ward.
It is so sickening that I do not see 'fans' like you on Ward threads but only GGG ones. Get a life!
Fyi...I'm a BOXING fan not a Ward fan. Stop with the labels and get a life yourself clown.Comment

I made a mistake in my post...replace couldn't with can't. Problem is that there are some who try to apply the statement he made last month to last year. Just like Brook...once you bulk up for a higher weight class, it isn't easy to go back down. Especially after age 30.

So in 3 months he went from can do it to can not. That holds water for 3 year olds.
What was he expecting? To sign contract with GGG gor May 2016 / 168lbs, and come to fight overweight 172 and pay the fine? Ward would be 190 at fight night. That cunt always needed advantage...Comment

So you are implying that Ward could make 168 for the supposed GGG fight that could have been arranged not before May 2016. But 3 months later he claimed he cant make it.

If you notice that Goldenboy always starts the Canelo wants GGG talk as his other fights near( Cotto, Khan & Smith)? They want to pump up his fans to get them to buy their PPV as many have called him out on his BS as of late. I won't buy either guy's fights, until they fight each other.Comment

Are you a boxing fan or a **** rider? You sound like the latter. Real fans understand that the elite guys train and eat to be at a specific weight for fights. It's not happenstance that he is almost 190 now. He decided to move up to 175 with the signing the deal with HBO.Comment

So ACTUALLY you AGREE with me? Ward was NEVER serious about fighting GGG, at least not @168. It is tough that for the last 3 years he could not come down to 168. But he hoodwinked his fans and spew bad blood with GGG. No wonder GGG addresses Ward as (SH)IT aka not human being...Comment

I did say I made an estimate. And those numbers don't include ppv buys and other sales. Not to mention that for sure GGG will get the bigger share of the income generated. I think this fight will generate a ton of money...and those monies will be distributed properly to each side. If we take that into account, then GGG and Brook could easily see over 6mil each. Whatever the number, GGG is definitely going to be entitled to a larger share than what Amir Khan got against Canelo (10mil+). Do the math. GBP are going to have to pay GGG pretty well if they make that fight.
Golovkin is getting a big cheque, it may even be near the rumored $4m, but he's not cut in on any of the upside on the event (outside of I'd guess a share of the HBO money); Matchroom Sport is going to shop the TV rights to Germany and the rest of the world markets (to see what the interest is), Matchroom is staging the event sponsors, etc. Matchroom Sport is the sole decision maker on the event.
Golovkin will likely end up with a package similar to what Khan got; $2.5m as his share of the US money, the German TV rights on the fight, and likely a share of the rest of the EU TV money (have K2 help negotiate those deals, to see if they can get better value out of Germany/Europe).
Golden Boy rights off the cost of bringing Golovkin on as simply the cost of doing the fight, Alvarez keeps his Mexico TV deal, and (in a manner not all that different from Matchroom Sports) split the net proceeds on the fight (from the gate, sponsors, closed circuit, UK TV, Canadian TV, HBOPPV, etc) 85/15 with Alvarez.
Amir Khan got the money that he got (I doubt his number actually even reached $10m) largely due to his deal with BoxNation in the UK.
If Golovkin is really as big a star in Germany as his camp claims he is, he'll make up his own money on German TV.Comment

If GGG fails to look great against Brook, or Brook goes 12, two things will quickly happen.
1. Floyd will come out of retirement with specific goal of willing a title at 160 pounds.
2. Canelo will suddenly be ready to fight GGG at 160.
3. Lara will say he will take 1 million to fight GGG.
4. Jacobs will take the 1.5 he deserves.
5. Suanders will want that 1.5 million.
If GGG makes easy work of Brook, Floyd won't say anything. Canelo will continue to claim his 180 pound in the ring body sent ready for MW, despite GGG weighing 170-174 and being ready.
And the rest will ask for ppv money to fight GGG, all the while taking 500k to fight lessor opponents. They'll ignore they don't deserve that kind of mney, they don't sell or bring in rating. They know if they beat GGG theyd propels themselves into stardom. Yet, they somehow believe they deserve ppv money for taking a fight on HBO.
If K2 is still not willing to find the money to secure a major opponent, hopefully Golovkin is happy being a road warrior and heading to Brooklyn (with the Quillin fight done with, there's not a bigger fight, for Jacobs or for Brooklyn, than Golovkin-Jacobs at the Barclays Center).Comment
