If GGG goes to 154, Canelo drops to 140!

Golovkin offering floyd a fight is like saying stevie Forbes offered de la hoya a fight at 150.

The A side does the offering. We all know this

"Everybody is bigger than me at 160 pounds," insists Gennady Golovkin. "I'm not big guy...I can make 154 pounds no problem. But I need big names, big fights. I respect champions at 168 pounds, but who is there? No big names or big fights at 168 currently."

I'm confused. GGG wants a big name and he can make 154 no problem, so why not fight Canelo at 155 or 154?

Canelo gave up the belt; what's the problem?
The problem is that you are an idiot. Canelo gave up the belt because he doesn't want to fight GGG.

Naw, Canelo never offered him a fight at 155. But there are some good fights at 154 or even 156-157 to entice some of those guys to move up. Andrade, J-rock, Lara, Jemall. I wouldn't favor any over GGG but those would be some good fights. I think the Andrade fight would be more competitive than GGG-Canelo

I'm sure he can make 154, but he'll be weakened. There's no one worth fighting at 154 that a 160 fight isn't possible outside of Mayweather.

In all fairness, after seeing GGG at the weigh-in for the Brook fight, I don't really think he could fight at 154 without severely draining himself. He looked OK - but no more than that - at the weigh-in with 159.

I think team GGG should openly acknowledge that, now that GGG is 34, he would not be able to make 154 anymore. There is no shame in that - bodies change with age. They should focus on 160-168 now.
