I think team GGG should openly acknowledge that, now that GGG is 34, he would not be able to make 154 anymore. There is no shame in that - bodies change with age. They should focus on 160-168 now.
Agreed he would probably approach Delahoya/Pacquiao levels of drainage.

"Everybody is bigger than me at 160 pounds," insists Gennady Golovkin. "I'm not big guy...I can make 154 pounds no problem. But I need big names, big fights. I respect champions at 168 pounds, but who is there? No big names or big fights at 168 currently."

I'm confused. GGG wants a big name and he can make 154 no problem, so why not fight Canelo at 155 or 154?

Canelo gave up the belt; what's the problem?
You're confused because you're not that bright. Why should he fight someone for the MW belt not at the MW limit?

they can fight for canelos jmw belt, and they can also have the rest of the belts on the line ... ggg can be a 2 division champ and gain more respect for beating canelo on his own weight class... but that is all just fantasy and "anyone from 154 to 168" was a fallacy, ggg just recently said "160 or no fight" , he might even decline the fight if he thinks the money isnt right, so much for not being a business man...
