Boxing would be best with 2 or 3 belts.

But it's not possible to do (make it be one organization w/one title per division).

If you trace it back to a big root cause for here in the U.S. a reason that no one thinks about is the fact that opening up a business in the U.S. has become very expensive and comes with a lot of regulatory nonsense, taxes, permits, licensing fes and government oversight.

Boxing was always seen as an outlet for those in the lower income communities to escape their environment (financially speaking), but for the past several decades you are seeing in this country the loss of small community businesses, "mom & pop" stores, and the expansion of corporate growth.

So with that is why you see Boxing gyms dwindling in quantity and that means less of an impact that Amateur Boxing scene means less of a potential for growth in communities across levels of income.

There are more reasons than just this, but this is a big reason that no one thinks about. If owning a gym becomes too expensive w/rent, utilities, taxes, regulations, etc. then unless I am financially prepared for months/years in advance I'm not going to be able to keep myself in business because I either won't be able to meet my monthly bills/fees or I'll have to price membership fees too high which hurt the potential for the number of overall members.

In my opinion boxing needs less of things.
Less belts, so we can have no dispute over who the main man is at the division.
Less weight divisions. Some division you could literally eat a sandwich in and be in another division.

Less rounds. With less rounds there are less feel out rounds and we avoid long tedious fights. Make it 8 rounds maximum.

        Champion
        WBA WBC IBF WBO
        Rankings

Champion fights one of the sanction champs and must continue rotation till all four are foughtand keep going.

If sanction loses he gets thrown back into rankings say 4 (once) since he's a former champ and fights 3 While 1 and 2 fight for belt and chance at champion.

If champion loses then he gets thrown back into ranking maybe 2 since he was just champion and fights for chance at another opportunity

InI between the rotating the sanction champ continues to fight top ten and if he loses well the ranking keeps moving.

If a champ from one sanction thinks he is better than the next rotation champ then he can challenge him for that spot

Every sanction already ranks guys different so it'll be u to that fighter to choose which sanction on how he ranks. Will keep highly touted fighters ranked higher in each sanction to have a good fighter ready for a big fight cause as usual popularity will play big part of money which means bigger sanctions and respect for belt

Quick thought still raw but think it'll produce some intriguing fights

It definitely should be that way but too many sanctioned belts don't want to give up their power and influence. Too many people are leaching off the boxing world, in world that is tanking and going down the tubes.
To really save the sport there needs to be ONE title for each major division. If it was like that we wouldn't have to put up with bull**** for years. Danny Garcia wouldn't (probably) be a thing at 147 stealing time and money from other capable and better fighters waiting in line.
Anymore it's practically impossible to keep up with all these belts and artificial borders between fighters. It's not a competition sport anymore, it's become a moneymaking entertainment sport. Whether the entertainment is substantive fights or sideshow theatrics, it's whatever the fighters want to do. What the fighters want to do now is make as much money as possible while balancing the outcry factor of spineless championship runs.
Floyd has done a lot to influence this new age of boxing. His message is that boxing will leave you broke or dead if you won't be smart enough to focus on solely what want out of the sport. Floyd believes that every fighter should just want money, paper accolades when they can get them and a clean bill of health for when they want to get out. The problem is that was a smart business tactic when Floyd came into the sport. Now a days the sport has become a product of Floyd Mayweather and others of his ilk. Just like Floyd played the system and belts to geniusly capitalize on every front of building his name and stock, the boxing politics have now become a part also. It's almost like they know there is a point where the whole thing will hit the fan and they just recklessly continue to artificially raise the sports stock with made up belts. The politics of boxing seem to understand that the short attention span and large casual audience will always take a respectful notice of a fighter that has champion next to his name.
**** all this rambling though. This sport is totally ****ed. 75% of the headliners and guys that have made it are sucking the blood out of boxing, leaving it in worst shape than they found it. To save the sport in my eyes and regain a true mainstream viewership they have to start from scratch. I'm talking about 75% of sport very much including pretend fighters need to just disappear. The market is very saturated with crap. We need to Make Boxing Great Again!

WBC and WBA are the only belts worth acknowledging to be honest, they have the longer history in the sport.

The others I just can't take serious AT ALL
