You know a fight is a mismatch when the most crooked organization in the history of sports refuses to sanction it.

They haven't caught me out lying at all. Geale WAS stripped of the super title for not fighting GGG and Golovkin had no mandatory outstanding when he was elevated to super champion himself.

If the WBA didn't elevate him because he became a unified champ, then the only other reason I can think of is that they did it so Quillin and Jacobs would have another version of their title to fight for. Who fucking knows with the WBA.

Nothing has surpassed or reached that same height as the Zbik win, the De La Hoya performance maybe excluding the bs result. I can understand why you'd be upset Sturm ducked him. Sturm has made a lot of money since then, for me it was a wise business choice as it was for Geale to face the ppv fight in Mundine, those were ducks, Danny came back to the table though, credit where it's due.

The point you're making is his interim title defnces count as title defences in his current streak ?
No version of Felix Sturm would have gone more that 5 rounds with GGG, which is why Sturm's promoters paid a 6 figure bribe to keep him out of Golovkin's way.

Nobody is counting interim defences here. GGG never even defended the interim title. As soon as he won it he asked for his shot at the full title, held by Sturm. That was when the WBA conjured up a super title out of nowhere for Sturm to fight for against a fall-guy opponent and told GGG that the title he had a mandated right to fight for had been downgraded to "regular"

Loeffler forgot to slip a cheque into the envelope when he wrote to them asking for permission to defend against Brook.

I would decline to sanction it too. But I would probably watch it.

he also forgot to slip the WBC a cheque for Klitschko

it is truly unbelievable that the WBC could completely ignore the WBA champion and heavyweight kingpin Wladimir Klitschko for..... oh I dunno, about a DECADE..... and yet they had no problem whatsoever breaking their own rules to not only rank Golovkin, but install him as mandatory

not really complaining that the WBC are inconsistent, because we know that already..... just complaining that Golovkin seems to be inexplicably receiving the red-carpet treatment from various sanctioning bodies as well as from the fawning media.

I am somewhat surprised the WBA did not sanction that fight.
