Are NC's not supposed to count towards title defenses? I'd count it just cuz the fight took place, it just happened to have a no contest result which I see more like a draw than I see like the fight didn't count or didn't happen. But I guess I see the argument towards not counting it.

That was Nard's argument. But the other side of it is that with a NC, you can't lose the title either.

his title defenses can continue but not his title run........A title run is consecutively defending the belt.

also another thing is if brook wins he won't even be able to win the belt. the streak is finished because of this ridiculous fight.

            he still hasn't beaten the
#2-4 fighters, not even one of them

whats so significant about defending titles that you never won in the ring in the first place....the whole title reign is one of the worst in recent history

Who else is a unified champion with 3 belts and only fought for 1?
You can criticize GGG for the guys he hasn't fought, but you can criticize the guys who won't fight GGG more is the funny part of your, & many peoples, stance.

I understand your stance, but as a guy who's more impartial about GGG than most of the GGG fanboys & GGG haters around these parts these days I think its underplayed how GGG's current resume has more to do with who won't fight him than who he's willing to fight.

GGG's next defence of the WBA title will not follow on consecutively from the one before, because his fight with Brook isn't for the WBA title.

              Bwahahaha!
Angst yeh, I could feel your fire burning, it turned me on.

Marco Huck moved up a weight and challenged Povetkin, he was allowed dispensation to keep the belts as obviously he would not be defending them. Golovkin has defended x amount of times and is still at said weight class, it's a break in a consecutive run.

              Deal with it, who cares.

Maybe because title was defended against him before becoming a NC

That's an interesting one, I wouldn't consider an unsuccessful defence as a defence which lets be honest NC are usually overturned because of losses against proven cheats.

Yea but thats after the fact. Going into the fight Allen could have won the title. So its not like some of those No Decision fights back in the day where the fighters went in knowing no decision would be announced.

The title was on the line & something happened to prevent the fight from moving forward. So I kinda see it as some sort of hybrid draw kinda outcome where neither guy gets a W or L without it being a official D. And I mean a lot of times fights that do end in a NC could have ended in a Technical Draw if enough rounds had taken place.
