  • I look at it this if Brook can move up and step up with only having Porter as the top name on his resume Golovkin can step up or move up in weight cause he does have Stevens and Lemiuex's name on his resume so what's the problem so what if Canelo allowed ODH to convince him to drop the belt so what if BJS or Eubank dad lost the fight or Jacobs is taking a rematch he should step up

      Deal with it, who cares.
      That makes 4 ******s.

Yes he was elevated to regular champ 6 years ago. Is this really what people are going to hang on to **** on him? I mean really?

As far as Golovkin is concerned, he's tried to make fights at SMW 4 different times, so he's not the least concerned with your notion of consecutive title defenses.
the topic is the title run......total title defenses is great but golovkins fans have stressed that his title run is whats gonna make him great. get it? So now you wanna switch & talk total title defenses? you see, if we do that we then gotta go into more of who's he's actually fought.

thats why the title run is important.

          • Why are you guys even talking about his defenses "record"? He's not close to the record at all. He had the ibo and wba world title. He didn't get the wba super title which is the real belt til he fought Geale. He has 5 defenses

Yeah, the WBA "super" titles are supposed to be awarded to WBA champs who also win belts with another sanctioning organisation - unified champions, in other words. So you don't have to win the super title in the ring to become super champ yourself.

Sturm was not a unified champion when the WBA elevated him to super champion to allow him to avoid fighting his mandatory challenger, GGG. The WBA broke their own rules when they did that.

I see your point but it is a fact that he didn't win it in the ring.

Is it ok then to not count the 12 defenses between being awarded the belt and beating Lemuiex LOL?

The GGG fans shouldn't let this bother them so much.

See my last post. He had wba world title. Not super. Hes not close to the record. Iff Danny Jacobs goes the rest of his career with the wba world title would anyone say he has the record? No cause it's not the real belt

you can have a million belts but if you haven't beat the best in your division, what do they really mean? very little
No its a joke that the very guys you want him to fight to earn credit, won't fight him. Jacobs, Quillen, BJS, and Canelo all ran like little *****es. As for what it means for GGG. It means he is the man at middleweight. Using the fact that the top guys are total *****es in the division as a way to **** on Golovkin just seems like lazy logic to me. He has tried to make fights with everyone of these "top" guys and they either vacated, weasled or just flat out ducked him. What makes it even worse is the guy is a legit payday + legacy fight + 3 titles and mother****ers still won't fight him. But yes lets **** on Golovkin because he was elevated 6 years ago.

GGG was the WBA interim champion and he beat Nilson Tapia to become the regular champion after the WBA were paid by Felix Sturm's promoter to elevate Sturm to super champion so he didn't have to fight GGG. The was no WBA super champ at MW till that happened.
