WBA is the worst organization in Boxing. Really. All this super champ, regular champ, sparring partner champ, etc. crap. Who cares. If i remember correctly didn't Guillermo Jones hold the title for like a year and a half without defending it. Isn't it amazing too at all the haters on here. I am not even a GGG fan, however some of these posters are the biggest haters on these boards. Racially motivated too. What's going to happen when Jacobs ducks again? What are they going to say?

The concept was coined to differentiate of those who have lost the belt in the middle from those who haven't... and you know it pretty well.

No it was for those that defended their title continuously, Golovkin isn't defending the title in his next fight = end of consecutive defences. It's really simple.

The belt with most defenses he had will not be getting defended, the belt wasn't sanctioned to be defended consecutively.. Are you really this slow or drunk off kool aid? He defended the WBA title for the 16th time against Wade. His next defence after fighting Brook will be his 17th consecutive defence of that same title.
