Loeffler said his emailed reply to Ward’s camp was that if Ward was still at 168 pounds in early 2017, Golovkin would be pleased to consider the bout at that point.

It was on Youtube 6 months ago.

GGG did not drop Canelo, but got him worked out and on the ropes.
If that is how they will fight i will put money on Golovkin by KO.

That , of course, if the fight happens before 2045.

I was beginning to feel like I was the only one that saw it, and these guys think Im crazy. I dont know what happened to that video, I guess YouTube took it down. Like you said, it wasnt 'murder', but GGG cornered and was handling Canelo

                  a) GGG is a horribly high risk low reward fight for Canelo and GBP. Short term there's reward but they're scared of legacy and (if humiliated wipeout) brand damage affecting future earnings. This is a very different fight from Canelo talking on Mayweather. In a Mayweather fight the loser gets a HUGE pile of cash, loses on points, doesn't get hurt and their reputation doesn't suffer because everyone who's anyone loses to MW. A MW fight is a huge earner with little or no career damage. In a GGG fight the loser gets less money and gets knocked the **** out after taking a beating. This can be career changing damage.

                  b) GGG wants the fight because it's more money than any other fight in boxing for him. It's low risk high reward for him.

                  c) Size and weight isn't an issue. Canelo isn't as tall as GGG but he's seriously thick set. Very heavily muscled. Comes into every fight heavy. 160 isn't a problem for him.

                  d) GGG's team have finally decided to drop the nice guy act and put huge pressure on Canelo and his macho fight anyone anytime brand. I think that's a smart move for them. Funnily enough, it will make the fight bigger if it ever happens. For all we know Canelo and GBP are OK with it. Pro wrestling marketing.

                  e) GGG's right. GBP will wriggle and squirm and continue to try to find face saving excuses for avoiding the fight. God knows what it will take for them to be ready - GGG's physical decline, gigantic amount of cash, unbearable pressure for ducking?

You can hate on GGG or Canelo all you like, but that's pretty much it.

PS Oh yeah - for what little it's worth, my opinion is that right now Canelo GGG isn't even a close fight. GGG controls range, breaks Canelo down and finishes him in 7 or 8. After the fight all the GGG haters will go on hating him. La plus ca change.
                  GGG is low reward? what???
other than getting a fight v Pac or a rematch v Mayweather, what reward would be bigger than beating GGG? Is it high risk, yes! but it's high reward as well

Your comparing a GGG v a Mayweather fight. Now compare GGG v. any other active fighter at 154 or 160. Maybe a PPV rematch v Cotto does good PPV buys, idk. There's really no fight other than GGG which would do more PPV buys for Canelo

                    • Really don't think Canelo is scared IMO, I think his promoter and matchmaker are definitely scared. Boxer really aren't scared of each other.
