yeah but take his level of competition into consideration
Just because he could cut off the ring from C or maximum B level fighters doesn't mean that he could also do it to the Mayweathers, Wards and Crawfords of the world. (P4P wise of course).

He doesn't miss much because he is accurate but also because he only punches when his feet are set. If you don't let him set his feet he would have a hard time punching in the fly cause he isn't that fast and that's not natural to him.
So basically you have to be able to move laterally, potshot him on the outside, dominate his jab and when he gets too close you should slip even closer, clinch and fight in the clinch up close. Then push and start it again from the outside.

It's not impossible to beat a fighter with Golovkin's style but his weightclass is pretty empty let's be honest, so nobody could do what's needed to beat him. Cotto's steamroll over Geale really shows how weak that weightclass is. Geale was an established, career MW (ok...foughtthere from 2007 that's a long time) and Cotto wasn't a big guy even in 154. He still beat him the same way or maybe even more than Golovkin did. I'm not implying that Cotto would have beat GGG but it really show something.

Tyson eventually got beaten by some people who had plans and they could also take them through even if they got "punched in the face"
well in this case its true. If you are close enough to hit golovkin to the body your also close enough to be hit back. Pretty sure one boxer or trainer would have considered trying to hit him with a body shot, its not some genius idea.

He has been doing it for 20 years man, hundreds and hundreds of fights, all levels of opponent.

He is doing a lot in there without even throwing a punch, constantly manueovering his opponent. To keep moving away from him for 12 rounds would be exhausting and unrealistic.

They can run from Gennady for a round or two, but eventually it takes its toll and they get snapped. The guys who have the most success against Golovkin are those who stand close in front of him and fire back.

I didn't imply that they should run from him, but circling on the outside with good lateral movement and not let him corner you can help a lot against him.
While he has a nice footwork I doubt that Golovkin could corner for example Ward or Mayweather the same way as he cornered his opponents so far not only because those guys oppose a much higher challenge to him due to their superb skills but alo because they have also very good, imo better foortwork than Golovkin.

I think the Willie Monroe fight showed some of the keys to minimizing GGG's effectiveness & how to best combat him. Need some elusiveness. Need to keep it moving. Need to hit & not get hit obviously. And need some power which is why I don't believe Monroe was able to mount as big as a comeback in their fight as his boxing skills were trying to get him to.

Thats why despite Canelo's side being scared of Canelo losing & Canelo's name losing value with a KO loss I feel he's the best shot to beat GGG (& I favor Canelo over GGG if they ever do fight) right now outside of GGG just losing cuz of age which I believe to be closer than people think.

2nd on the list would probably be Gilberto Ramirez these days, but thats just a fight where we see if Ramirez can avoid the big barrage of punches for 12 rounds or long enough to diminish GGG in the later rounds where GGG damn near no mas's himself from the fight or gets stopped late if his not as good as some people think.

The best shot Brook has against GGG is to stick and move (ala Floyd or Lara) and out point him. Otherwise no shot for Brook.

A pot shotter is not beating him. Someone that just wants to stick a jab out there, counter and tie up GGG is in for a brutal beating. It can be part of the plan, but it can't be the plan for 12 rounds. His style is literally built to destroy out fighters. The guy has a fantastic jab, his counter jab is off the charts, great at cutting the ring off and a vicious and committed body puncher. I just don't see how anyone can watch him fight and come to the conclusion that someone is going to pot shot him for 12 rounds. People bring up Willie, but where did Willie have success? Inside standing his ground. His moving around early in the fight was greeted with a nasty counter left hook that I still can't believe he got up from. Kudos to Willie for having a chin.

I think it is fairly obvious the type of fighter that can beat GGG and that is someone that can get inside, do work, turn him, jab on the way out and rinse and repeat. Yes he will have to outbox as well but that is more to keep GGG guessing so he can't just focus in on one thing. And the only proven guy that was near GGG's weight that could do that is Ward. Andrade I think has the style to give GGG a run, but he is'nt proven. Jacobs has a slight chance because he has legit power and can move fairly well, but he has no inside game to speak of. Canelo has a slight chance because he does have a decent inside game but he likes to take too much time off, but GGG won't allow him to take a breather and he is going to get ground down into a nub.

the easy way to beat GGG is to wear armor and bring a ******* into the ring

Good analysis. Personally I don't think there is anybody in the division that can beat him. Brook I believe has the most skill of all of them so it will be a good test for GGG. After I saw him dismantle Lemieux I'm convinced he will continue to dominate in the Division. Willie Monroe and Stevens both hit him with some good clean shots but he was unphased by them. Even when he was off balance at the moment Geale hit him clean he still countered with a knock out punch. I wish for someone to challenge him but so far nothing. Brook may be the one. We'll see.

That is what everyone tries to do yet any success that has came against him has been on the inside vs a guy fighting short that is sitting down on his punches. Ouma fight, rounds 4-5 vs Monroe
People **** on Monroe but at least that cat had a plan B, adjusted and went for broke. Yh he quit but he went for it and left it all there then got what was left knocked out of him. He got more done in 2 rounds than 25 of these guys have combined.

GGGs a two-handed puncher who constantly is on you, he's merely out of range a few inches & throws looping and wide shots it doesn't matter which way you circle especially if you're going to move bolt upright or be flicking out some weak ass jab.
He is always on you, constantly manuvering you there is nothing more exhausting mentally and physically and that is without him even landing.

I don't see it not saying a brilliant pure boxer couldn't there is always several ways to beat anybody but I don't think it's the best way of going about it. It plays to his strengths too much.
You'd think going to him would but he generates most power when pressing and not a lot of guys have had the balls let alone the skillset to attempt it.
Great post. Most of fighters are against him in full defensive mode circling around the ring, but they can't escape him that way because he's great at cutting off the ring. Monroe was successfuly doing for 2 rounds what Whitaker was doing against Chavez - keeping him off balance by changing angles instead of circling around the ring. Plus just like you said he was throwing fast combination at the same time, it's the other thing that he wasn't able to make him respect his power.
