    A double standard.

And that's exactly what Larryx, nubianpiye, kigali and several others do, they say anyone who supports a white boxer is a racist.

But this is to be expected. Somehow, Andre Ward has now become 'classless' and a 'primadonna', which fits into years old hardwired stereotypes. He's now the 'pampered' athlete who was handed 'unearned' kudos and opportunities, while GGG comes from 'hardscrabble' roots and had to 'work' for everything he 'earned'.

Hell, you might as well call Ward 'sullen' too, that's an old favorite from your grandpa's era.

This is just classic. But then again, you are EXACTLY the target audience for Fischer's column. He dog whistled, and your Pavlovian response wasright on cue.

      Good luck with that.
You're acting [and overreacting] like a child. I did not say that Ward is classless. Please don't use quotes around words since you don't understand what that means.
I have a great amount of respect for Ward, and appreciate many things about him. But he's not a saint, and trying to paint him as one shows your bias, especially when you don't have any factual information to back up your point of view. You didn't like what you read so you pretend it's not true and didn't happen. Everything I posted about both fighters is factually correct.

You want someone to take you seriously? Educate yourself and argue with facts. Right now, you can be summarized in 3 words.

      Ignorance is bliss.

I was looking at BoxingScene.com’s homepage on Tuesday night (about 10:45 p.m. PT) and found NINE headlines with Golovkin’s name in it. Any news about Golovkin, it seems, is fit to post. LOL.

              that is so true

African Americans are in the right to root for their own. They have plenty of excellent fighters and held a tight grip on this game from many years. They are not rooting for them simply because of their skin color, but because they actually belong to the same ethnic group.

I have no problem with Eastern European fans being proud of their countrymen. I just don't see why a white guy from Maine should derive any sense of pride from ggg's success.

I remember going to a fight in the USA and there was a black fighter from the UK fighting a local white guy. The black fans around me were all rooting for the foreign black guy. Why was that?

I remember in Toronto during the winter Olympics, several black people I worked with were rooting for an American black girl to defeat a Canadian white girl. Why was that?

A white guy from Maine might notice that GGG is an courageous and EXCITING fighter who doesn't clinch or run, and doesn't beat up women or childishly brag about being the TBE. GGG has class and good manners.

Or maybe a white guy from Canada might root for Kovalev because he's an exciting fighter. And perhaps that white guy from Canada can relate to Sergey, because he's someone who grew up in a place witha harsh cold climate and little opportunity, someone who overcame a lot to get where he is. And like the white guy from Canada, he's a good decent honorable man who loves his wife and child.

White fans support white boxers. Black fans support black boxers. Mexican fans support Mexican boxers... Yet black fans are racist because they don't support boxers of other races. I know plenty of black people that didn't support Mayweather because they thought he was arrogant. They're plenty of black people that don't know what a Golovkin is let alone if he's a boxer or not. This guy obviously has his own biases but prefers to deflect it on to black fans rather than admit it.

On the subject of whether black people can be racist, I suppose in very rare circumstances that could be true but more than likely are not. Let me know when you have blacks arbitrarily taking away other people's basic rights, subjecting others to segregation and "apartheid", brutality, incarceration, and unfair housing practices.
