Most of the folks name calling and attacking Alvarez are bitter Pacquiao fans or frustrated Golovkin fans. They don't care about the sport nor do they understand the business side of the sport. They just want Golovkin legitimized so that they can talk more ****. Alvarez vs Golovkin is the biggest fight in boxing....not the best fight in boxing. This isn't a Mayweather Pacquiao situation where both fighters are fighting the same guys just not each other. Bottom line, fans want the fight, Golovkin needs the fight, but Alvarez only wants it on his terms. I can't see how he is WRONG for wanting the fight on his terms. Is he not the one assuming ALL the risk here?

So basically Canelo is showing how tough and macho he is by standing up to 'critics' and NOT taking the fight with his mandatory and vacating his title to avoid the deadline that he previously agreed to ... yeah?

And this is the so called next big star of the sport. Sigh no wonder boxing is declining over the last couple of years.

Anyone else notice how GGG critics bring up GGG's lack of a quality resume and say how he's overrated, yet all the guys who should be fighting him (Canelo, Cotto, BJS, Eubanks, Quillen, Jacobs) have all either REFUSED to fight him or are asking for ridiculous amounts of money!

What is it that they fear? If he's so "overrated" and has a "weak resume", why do the top guys in his division flat out refuse to fight him or want a Gazillion dollars to do so?

You like GGG and you believe that Canelo is ducking him.
You believe that Canelo vs GGG should be happening next and that Canelo is making excuses. Do you have concrete evidence?
no i dont 'believe' canelo is ducking him, he lobbed his belt in the bin after saying hed fight golovkin next. Actions speak louder than words and thats enough evidence of him ducking golovkin for me.

Yet, you still believe that he could have been ready in 12 weeks. Maybe from the deadline of the WBC.

But its OK, there is no point in debating the technicality of one's statements when it doesn't matter if one is correct.
Jesus Christ. Didn’t think this would need clarifying.

When I stated he would only be ready by 2017, I did so based on what HE and his team are pursuing. And when I also stated he can be ready in 12 weeks (i.e. a normal training camp after a fight is signed), I did so based on by what HE said about signing a contract now and putting the gloves on immediately.

All to show that HIS statements compared to HIS actions, are contradictory.

Just to be clear: I understood everything you said and the logic behind it. Also, you make sense in your statements.
I however brought up the technicality to show that one should not be too eager to criticise lest one becomes a victim their own statements.

I agree with you on that line but it still does not change the fact that:
When you are not directly involved, some of the information you may quote can be easily classified as hearsay.
