I like Crawford and follow him but don't see a comparison to Floyd other than thinking he might be the best fighter currently active. He seems quiet, not mouthy, which is what brought on 95% of Floyd's popularity.
crawford is the next floyd mayweather

No, I don't agree. I an not convinced he is in the top 10 best pound for pound fighters in the world and I don't think his is anywhere near as good as Mayweather or ever will be. I think Spence is a better young fighter than Crawford in every way.Comment

Nah. Bud is really good, I think he's earned his way to being a grade A level guy, but he'll never be Floyd. He's waaaayyyyy easier to hit than Floyd (although most are compared to Floyd, who IMO, is the best to ever do it when it comes to the defensive aspect of the sport), and I just don't ever see TC being a mainstream crossover draw. Floyd was/is an uber star. Floyd was arguably the most polarizing professional athlete on earth during his time. To think that Crawford will become that, or even remotely close to that -- I mean the odds are about 1%. If that.
And remember, just being a terrific boxer, and even a top 2 or 3 pound for pound guy doesn't mean **** as far as being a superstar is concerned. Just look at Andre Ward, who has spent several years of his career as being the consensus #2 guy in the sport. But yeah, go to a sports bar and bring up Andre Ward casually with someone. In all likelihood they won't even know who the f**k he is.
Floyd was the perfect storm when it came to being a boxing superstar. Supremely talented, unbeatable, fought a lot of huge names along the way, hated by millions and loved by the rest -- and more importantly known by all.
Maybe one day a "next Floyd" will really come along, but I find it hard to believe that it'll be Terrence Crawford.Comment
