Crawford is excellent...But I don't find him to be similar to Mayweather.

Why the unneccesary shots at Kovalev and Golovkin?

Do you want Kovalev to fight at cruiserweight in russia for the rest of his career?

And Crawford moved up because he was going to kill himself if he didn't. Watch the HBO 2 Days episode. We shouldn't be praising fighters for moving up out of physical necessity.

Crawford might turn out to be one of the best boxers in the sport (probably is already actually), but will he ever have the star attraction that mayweather had? im not so sure. Plus i think stylistically they are quite different

No he's not there is no other Floyd Mayweather cause as of today I don't see no one with his Defense skills or how to piss the public off into buying his boring fights I stopped ordering his fights after the Castillo gift win

Triple GGG is old and smallhe's probably fighting at a weight that his body has grown into. Kovalev is thin and lean he's probably can go to Cruiser but would have to borrow Floyds IV equipment to reach heavyweight

Floyd Mayweather Jr was a boxing prodigy, a kid tabbed for greatness likely since he was the age of 16/17. Went to the Olympics, was robbed of a chance to fight for gold, turned pro, and was a world champion before the end of his second year as a pro fighter.

Terrence Crawford fought for almost 5 years before winning his first title, having turned professional after a good amateur career but nothing awe-inspiring.

Terence Crawford is far more Bernard Hopkins Jr than he is Floyd.

Of course Crawford is not Mayweather, but they have a lot of similarity. They have a similar body, both 5'8, both reachy. They both come from some poor neighborhood. They are both undefeared, both multi weight classes champion. They are both able to take a difficult opponent and adjust so well that they make it seem easy. They both have elite movement and overall defensive.

Also if you look at Crawford amateur career, its not as stellar as Mayweather. But he still almost made the olympic team and was a decent amateur. Also Crawford was more of a bum fighting in the amateur. It took him to get shot on the head to have that wake up call and thats when he started to be dead serious about boxing.

Finally Mayweather was better promoting himself than Crawford will ever be. But skillwise, its the same and i would say Crawford is better offensively.

They are definitely not equals when it comes to skill. Floyd had far superior defense. And in Floyd's youth he was a pretty good offensive fighter. At his age now I would definitely say Crawford is the better offensive fighter.
If they both fought in their primes Floyd beats Crawford.

I expect Crawford to grow as a fighter but I don't see much similarities, Mayweather's approach around that age was entirely different too and the skill gap is pretty wide.
