I also think it's unfair for you to keep bringing up Ward's headbutts. He was only bad once - in a fight with Kessler a LONG time ago. As for clinches, yeah, they suck. But they are part of the sport.. and the last time Ward REALLY overdid with the clinches was vs. Kessler.

i can be a fan of more than one fighter mate. Im looking forward to this more than GGG/brook. and to reply to other post, why should a boxer have to try and defend themselves against illegal tactics? A ref is there to stop it.

what illegal tactics? you keep saying his fights from 5-6 years ago should not make him p4p..yet the Kessler fight is the only fight where he headbutted and that was 5-6 years ago....did you see any of that in his comeback?

no but my fear is that thats because hes been fighting low level opponents in his comeback, and he could pretty much win with any tactic. Im a real boxing fan and believe me i want this to be a good fight.

I don't want to see two guys going toe to toe -- that would disappoint me ; the level skill that Andre Ward posses is far to great to engage in senseless brawling. I hope to see the opposite : complete neutralization of Kovalevs arsenal ( total disarmament ) namely a gradual reduction of the punch output to limit risk, prioritization of Ring-Generalship and lastly clean punches -- nothing wild and barbaric to impress the judges and conserve energy ( everything must be graceful!) It would be ideal that Ward comes out without a scratch -- that's a sign of true masterful ability at the highest level considering they both are P4P boxers : to go in with such a savage and come out as you came in would truly be a remarkable yet underappreciated achievement.
