    ****** and lazy thread.

Errol Spence and Golovkin are at two totally different stages of their careers.

Golovkin sells out stadiums, people buy his merchandise, his fights are anticipated months ahead of time, and he has been the most talked about boxer for the last couple years.

Spence is a f**king beast but he has been a pro for less than 4 years. Let's see if he can build a strong fanbase. I hope he can.

Why are we comparing a 34 year old Golovkin to a 26 year old Spence?

GGG would still be the best mw in the world without the belt. He'd still be avoided by the other top guys in the division.

Other WW would at least fight Spence instead of vacating.

to be the best you have to beat the best, he hasnt done that, regardless of the who, wins and whys....the rest is just all speculation.

he hasnt been the top rated middleweights so you just cant assume he is the best

the only guy in the top 5-6 he beat is Lemieux

          1 Gennady Golovkin 35-0-0 (32) KAZ 1
          2 Daniel Jacobs 31-1-0 (28) USA 2
          3 Billy Joe Saunders 23-0-0 (12) ENG 3
          4 Miguel Cotto 40-5-0 (33) PR 4
          5 Andy Lee 34-3-1 (24) IRE 5
          6 David Lemieux 35-3-0 (32) CAN 6
          7 Peter Quillin 32-1-1 (23) USA 7
          8 Chris Eubank Jr. 23-1-0 (18) ENG 8
          9 Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam 32-2-0 (19) CMR 9
          10 Avtandil Khurtsidze

these are the transnational boxing rankings

He has work to do to prove he is the best middleweight....several of those guys fought others...BJS holds wins over 2 current top ten guys, many of these guys only have one win over a top ten guy so its not like they are fighting each other often

Not saying GGG is being ducked or not but he has to prove he is the best by getting in the ring with the best.

because spence hype is growing, but the difference is, people arent making excuses for why he hasnt fought the best at his weight yet, whereas with GGG seems to be most things are speculation. How can you be the best middleweight when you have only beaten 1 of the current top ten? even BJS has wins over Lee and Eubanks.

also no one is making spence out to be what he hasnt proved to be....the best welterweight in the world...he has the potential

This is true...but i view that smw crop as a bunch of b level fighters trading wins over eachother....not anything to write home about either. It's just funny how some people elevate a fighters status just cuz he's on the resume of a fighter they support. Kessler had his time, but none of those super 6 guys are real top class fighters. Smw has never been that glamorous, but picture any of those guys picking up a win over rjj, toney, benn, calzaghe etc. Ok rjj is a bit unfair, but you get where I'm coming from.

Lol exactly. It would be tragic if spence was wrapping up his career without having secured any big fights.

You're a joke, insecure person. Not even you believe your bullshiet.

Even Danny "the scared man" Jacobs said GGG was the best of his generation.

to be real though, the super 6 imo was one of the best round robins in recent boxing history

Andre and Dirrell were unproven olympians but had potential......Kessler was blitzing everyone not named Froch, Ward or Calzaghe....I was high on kessler and shocked he lost to someone so experienced.I was pulling for him to get by Joe but Joe really showed class.

Taylor was a former undisputed 160 champ he had a lot of talent and Abraham was solid too...10 defenses of the ibf at 160

Froch man, this guy is an overachiever...he made me wrong so many times I have to give it up to him

Seriously though....their era is the best we've had since the early to mid 90s.......168 was deep in the late 2000s and early 2010s

If there was a round robin of the early 2010s guys vs the current 168 top 6 or 6.....EARly 2010s would be kicking major azz/.
