Comments Thread For: Frampton: The UK Has 14 World Champions - Not All Are Legit!

Late last month, WBA super featherweight champion Carl Frampton continued the UK's run of impressive victories and world title conquests when he won a twelve round decision over Leo Santa Cruz at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Its ironic that after he robs Santa Cruz he has the nerve to basically call his countrymen frauds just like Joshua had the nerve to speak about robbery when he was gifted the Gold in the Olympics.

Brititish fighters are always hating on each other didn't you notice? Not all on all but it's very divided there too not just in America and they talk at least as much traah to the opposite side as Americans. Add their history and their conflicts between different countries inside the UK.

However what he said is righ.

          Joshua, Fury - legit
          Bellew - nah
          DeGale - legit
          BJS - lmao
          Liam Smith - nah
Brook - legit cause he beat Porter, it's a disgrace what he has done ever since though...
Burns - hell no, how the **** is this man a champion in 140?
Crolla - not a bad fighter but no way that he would be the best lw
Flanagan - his KO against Magdaleno was nice but I think the first more serious fighter will beat his ass so no
Selby - no, weakest champ at 126
Frampton - legit (he beat LSC)

Dont know about the other two much...
Out of the 12 I know I would only call 5 a legit champion and a serious threat to anyone in their division. Brook, DeGale, Frampton, Joshua, Fury

Fury is a drug cheat and Joshua shouldnt even be champion right now as Fury ( again the cheat ) was stripped of the IBF -- and I forgot to mention how hypocritical Framptons statements are when he clearly ducked Rigo. I only recognize James Degale and Billy Joe as their world champions....and I hate to say it but even Kell Brook.

BJS...? You gotta be kidding me man...

That guy is scared no even just from Golovkin but from every second jogger in his weightclass.

Joshua may got his belt on an easy way but he is a threat to anyone in his weighclass, no fighter who is clearly better than him there imo... so yeah he is legit
and I doN't like Fury but he beat Wlad so it is what it is...
Frampton ducked Rigo in 122 but now he is in 126 and he beat LSC there so he is as legit as you can get

This is a decent background but you made some mistakes. No matter what you think of AJs potential, he is not a legitimate champion at heavyweight. That honour belongs solely to Fury.

In terms of Crolla, he has an argument as one of the top 2 guys in the division and with a win over Linares would be rightly regarded as the best lw on the planet. Selby is a guy who is easily top 3 in the division, again, a unification would make him number one.

You missed out McDonnell who could easily be regarded as the best bantam on the planet, depending on how you view Yamanaka but again, like most of the Brit champs at the moment, he is top 2 or 3 and in the argument for best in the division.

It certainly seems like Frampton has a few sour g****s lol

Billy Joe beat a legit world champion in his victory over Andy Lee and I don't like the Gypsy...he also beat Eubank Jr and thats not saying much either but hes rated high at present time...I think hes somewhere around 5-7.

He's right only about 1/2 actually earned it the rest were gifted it

Don't quote me but the list is Fury,Frampton,Degeale,Brook,Billy Joe & Mccdonnel & Selby

The rest are suspect and capitalized on the opprotunity. UK fighters are being given shots because they're in a hot market so the organizations are being generous to their fighters

Liam Smith got his over Thompson, Burns got his over some random.
