I agree Floyd is excellent. However you cannot be goat with an 0 in your loss column. The 0 reflects a lack of challenge. Strange how today a loss is viewed so negatively.

Miss the 90s when a loss wasn't viewed as bad. Look at Trinidad. No one really faults him for his losses. But he called out ALL the top guys no matter the weight class and actually fought them. Trinidads losses are Winky, Hopkins and jones jr. All three great fighters and the latter two will forever be mentioned as all time greats. Trinidad went up two weight classes to fight these guys and if I remember correctly 3 for jones. Dude was never scared and I think Trinidad is higher on the goat list than Floyd partly due because of his losses.

Hopkins is higher than both imo for similar reason le as Trinidad but did it for much longer.

Trinidad fought Jones at 170, he was a LW basically. So 4 divisions technically and I agree mostly with what you said.

If you think Trinidad is ranked higher than Mayweather you're in the extreme minority on that one buddy.

Least he knows you're thinking about him.

I don't think any real top 10 all time best would include Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Thanks for the reminder. I knew it was an extreme jump and jones could t even ko him. Trinidad had absolutely no power at the high of weight. We don't see these type of guys any more. Hopkins was the last of their kind. He fought kov at 50. That's makes him goat in my book.

He still nevertheless brings up a valid point on Floyd not necessarily seeking a challenge, Floyd doesn't care about his own legacy he cares about how much he puts in his bank account after each fight that and avoiding hard fought damaging fights.

For me that does damage him big time in the ATG rankings people have a go at Marciano for him remaining with his 0 but If I was to score which one higher I'd always favour Marciano over Floyd because of the manner he beat his opponents and the fact he worked through the adversity of not always being the biggest and not having the picture perfect technique that and he didn't cherry pick stipulations to making an opponent agree to fight him.

That all said though I still wouldn't put Trinidad above Floyd I'd put Pacquiao ahead of him though.

I can accept that. My reasoning is sound. Imagine trin and Floyd fighting. Insane. Trinidad would have most of the advantages. Including floyds biggest asset his conditioning. The only other boxer with legendary status conditioning is Trinidad. Both had long arm reach. Trinidad is much stronger. See trinidads fight with Whitaker. Floyd wouldnt be able to stay away from Trinidad for twelve. Oscar did it by actually running away. Floyd has too much pride to actually run.

This. I'm a HUGE boxrec fan for keeping up with guys & gauging resume/opponent strength, but at least once a month I wanna smack someone through there computer, laptop or phone for making a dumbass thread about the rankings or talking about something on their schedule that they think is the most ironclad & legit schedule in boxing.

I would pick Tito to beat Floyd at WW.

Tito's a ATG WW, a big strong long huge punching beast. Floyd's in his 4th weight class at WW.

I don't give Floyd much chance against a lot of the ATG natural WW's.
