I don't see Jacobs as being in a big hurry to enforce his status as mandatory contender. I imagine that the WBA will mandate this fight right after the two fight on 9-9 and 9-10. Hopefully, Jacobs will be willing to do what very few MW champs and contenders seem unwilling to do

As if GGG is so brave.

He stayed in the amateurs until he was dragged away kicking and screaming...and he doesn't want to back up that "anybody from 154 to 168" claim.

              Now he's fighting a Welterweight.

              Not so brave.

Nestor Gibbs needs to get Danny's response to team GGG's claim they're ready for Dec/Nov.

If NYSAC health insurance rules are still a problem, this fight could do well in LV at T-Mobile or the LA Forum.

"154 to 168" goes back to 2012. Since then, Golovkin has repeatedly said his goal is to unify the division. No one seemed to be interested in that proposition in 2012. As far as the amateurs go, I think him being robbed in his last amateur fight had as much to do with his decision to turn pro as much as anything else

This brings us to your major point of discussion, that he is fighting a welterweight. Golovkin fought in April then waited about a month for Canelo, who ultimately surrendered the belt to Golovkin rather than fight. Add to that, Eubank jerked him around for another month or so. Golovkin at this point is beginning to run out of time to make his September date on HBO. Bring in a willing fighter from the same promoter that Golovkin had a deal 90% done with and now we have a fight that sold out in 12 minutes.

How is fighting a Welterweight in line with unifying Middleweight???

Eubank was never in the cards...it was Brook from jump.

GGG has the wool pulled over your eyes.
