There you go. Terence Crawford was never offered a Paq fight, totally contradicting Arum.

Arum getting exposed. He made an offer to Vargas before flying to the Phillippines and then all he did was convince Pac to get on board. I doubt they even discussed Crawford as an option at all.

        Has always been Vargas
You may be right. Vargas is expendable. If Terence loses, Arum would end up with nothing. Pac beats Crawford, then retires, Terence no longer the undefeated star. I get you.

          No i am right.

Vargas was gifted the belt for this purpose. Crawford name was used to build up his own star and to soften the blow of Vargas being announced for those who actually believed Crawford was in the running.

Arum is still trying to spin it but Crawford is coming out saying he's full of crap...but most of us already knew that.

          This isn't protection, its survival

What a surprise! "Sign the contracts!" "He's scared of needles!" "We need an outdoor stadium!" "Manny has a bad cut!" Arum's best quote: "I was lying yesterday, but today I am telling the truth!" Then Arum (and others) wonder why Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Rigo and Mikey Garcia left. The bad part is that they didn't have to make up a lie! They could've said "Just like Rigondeaux, Terence Crawford is a master technician, but not very crowd-pleasing."

Looks like TR is mis-forming everybody so they can stick that Vargas fight in.

Funny how nobody sees any contract or offers in either side

You already know! If I'm Crawford, I'm checking my contract (for an expiration date) right now! However, Bob could make it up to Crawford and get him Danny Garcia!

According to Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, he spoke with eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao and the Filipino superstar has agreed to fight Terence Crawford

Question is why did Arum change his mind and started throwing Vargas' name after the Postol fight.
I think because Arum wanted a November fight but HBO already had Kov/Ward lined up. If HBO doesn't pick up the fight, Manny win or lose can go elsewhere.

If he wins, it sets up a possible Floyd rematch, so Arum, who will still be promoting Manny, wants to get some of that money.

This reminds me of the "countdown clock" where Bob was telling everyone Manny was waiting for Floyd but Margarito told an interviewer that Arum promised him a Pac fight in February.

Arum represents both sides with Terence Crawford as the future.
Arum is protecting both in principle. Arum don't want to make this fight until they feel comfortable that Bud will win this match up in tremendous fashion.

Arum in turn has to keep Pac relevant until they feel PAC has slipped enough were this fight is not a 50/50 fight.

Arum has always cashed out his aging stars until the perfect time. Nothing has changed which shows PAC is too much of a live dog to make this match up.

Vargas is the match up IMO because this will make PAC look really impressive which will hype him up for the baton pass when Crawford is ready. Bud needs to look more explosive in his next match up though so that they can have that big final fight with PAC.

Oh lord. Pacquiao will be made to explain Arum's pick again when faces the media. In unintelligible english. This guy needs to tell the truth and stop being nice to evil uncle Bob.
