He's not a concussive or devastating puncher at WW let alone MW.

Here's something I've been thinking about since I saw how huge Brook was at the 30 day weight check - maybe it isn't maximum power he's going for, but maximum strength, which is a different thing.

Maybe he's going to try and negate GGG's power by staying close and mauling on the inside. As the home fighter, he will probably get more leeway from the ref with tactics like that.

A lot of pundits say GGG can't fight in the inside. Maybe Kell is going to test that theory out?

Murray couldn´t hold GGG so I´m guessing neither can Brook. Golovkin dictates the range with his jab and foot work. Only way to really bother GGG is to go to the body (no man has an iron liver) and throw 100 or more punches per round, make him uncomfortable. Still looks like a suicide mission but I hope Brook can make a fight of it.

It's a bad matchup but I wouldn't go in there sticking my chin out either. Golovkin has one hell of a chin but we don't know what Brook will come in puching like since this is uncharted territory. I think between that fact and the question of how he'll take Golovkin's punches can make this sideshow of a fight a good one but it probably won't play out that way.

Take what Etches says with a grain of salt, with him being Brook's mate

Carson Jones took everything Brook threw at him in their first fight and was walking the Special One down in the second half of the fight. In the final few rounds Brook was in full retreat and holding on for dear life.
Brook did stop Jones in their second fight but it was a quick stoppage by a Brit wanker ref who was allowing Brook to hold and hit.
Brook's best win is vs Porter, other than that he's untested.
That said, Golvkin detractors say the same thing about him.
So what we have here is the battle of 2 untested champs. lol

I really like your theory because it has a ton of merit. Anybody who watched GGG fight Curtis Stevens knows that GGG can get touched up on the inside. If Brook is going to attack that inside game, he either must have the durability to stand there & exchange with GGG, or slip all of GGG's punches. It's doubtful that if he decides to keep that weight on, that he maintains his speed...he'll likely sacrifice agility to stay big. He might want to try to muscle GGG on the inside. The only problem with that is that GGG likely will land on him on the inside too. Eventually, I see Brook giving up on that plan because he'll accumulate too much damage...just as Stevens did. Holding GGG isn't going to work because all GGG has to do is take a half-step back & counter. Murray found that out the hard way. I still think the fight ends with a stoppage, but it will be entertaining while it lasts. Brook will have to come into the fight with a very detailed gameplan that keeps GGG off-balance round-by-round...otherwise, the ref or his corner will have to stop the fight.
